Is there a place in this world for the dreamers?

Or will they just be chewed up and spit out by conventional society?

Yes, as long as they meet their basic needs and responsibilities first! Success is mostly based on 'dreaming" first and foremost, then you actualize it.

How boring it would be without the dreamers!  Without a dream, how do we have wishes and ambitions?  How do we find our soul mates?  How do we find the strength to spur us on to achieving, to live the dreams in fact?  It's important to know the difference between dreams and reality though, so that we can keep a healthy balance and use one to inspire the other.

There's always room for dreamers, thank goodness! Where would we be if we didn't have dreams??  I truly believe that every single person in the world has a dream of some sort....

It depends upon what you mean by dreamers. Some dreamers are artists and scientists. Those are the ones who will be fine in life. The others who day dream about peace, equality, those I do say will be rejected and spit from society. Because dream all you like, but most of that will never occur.

It's called the university!  I wouldn't trade my education for anything.  Sadly though, once a person leaves, the majority of their fellow citizens will not be as accepting of unconventional views as classmates and professors may have been.

I think novelists are also a good place for dreamers to direct their efforts.  Maybe they can change the world!

Yes, dreamers, they have accomplished making a story in their mind so they can write or make a movie, and they can habve a sense of accomplishment. Dreamers, just because their dreamers, doesn't mean they can't fit in and get along just as well.

    Hope it helps ya wink

I have had so many dreams and I have been "chewed up and spit out" more times then I care to remember. However, I continue to dream, after all who are we without our dreams?  Why wake up in the morning if you have nothing to look forward to tomorrow. Our dreams make us who we are nonetheless, dreams are dead without effort. If you sit around and wait for your dreams to come true, you might be in for a long wait. On the other hand, If you get up and say, I am going to do whatever it takes to make my dreams a reality today, chances are, you on your way to making your dreams come true. So my answer, life is full of this disappointment and things do not always happen when you want them to. Nevertheless, as long as you are alive you still have time to make your dreams comes true. So keep dreaming, keep pushing forward and never give up.

I'd like to think and hope so. I am dreamer, one with a realist touch of course.

I firmly believe there is.  There HAS to be.  If we cannot find it, then we simply CREATE it!  This world belongs to each of us equally.

Of course.  If we didn't have dreams to follow we wouldn't have the theme parks, good books to read, movies to watch, inventions that have changed our lives, those who strive to provide a better life for themselves and to help others.  There wouldn't be cancer research, places like St. Jude, organizations like the Red Cross, American Cancer Society.  All that we have in our world was because someone dared to dream.

I sure hope so! For me, dreaming is just a step in the process in the evolution of our lives. When you are young, and you want to be a Fireman, or a Ballerina, or a Rock Star, that is the muse of your imagination! Most likely you 'played' at being those things, acted them out, all the while growing your imagination. What happens is, as we get older, too many people tell us to 'grow up' 'stop dreaming' 'get a real job', fall in line with the herd and stop dreaming. Most times this successfully stifles the urge to dream, except when we are asleep of course. Those that rise above this herd like behavior are invariably those that reach for their star and in the process help others reach theirs! I believe you put out what you get, it's called karma. If you encourage the dreamers, your own dreams will find you.

We are all dreamers! This world is our place. It all starts with a dream, from that beautiful foundation we leap and we find our wings to rise to new heights, yet there are some that are so involved with the dream, that become so caught by its spell that they simply cannot bring themselves to leap, they don't want to grow the wings, through fear they will not be strong enough to take the dream higher. What a shame that is.

so to answer, Yes there is a place for dreamers, so long as they are willing to act on it they will then take a reshape conventional society. Yet if they stay with the idea of a dream without giving it a form, conventional society will never acknowledge them. They are the times that we live in.

Great things start out as dreams; the ability to turn dreams into reality is the hard part. Yes there is room for dreamers in this world.

    Oh Yes Billybuc!
In fact, we could ask this question another way to get one answer; What kind of a place would this world be without dreamers?
Can I just step inside your mind for just one day? LOL!

Yes, I think our whole world is for dreamers.  I think dreamers dream.  They look at the world and it inspires them.
Conventional society cannot touch a dreamer, really.
If a dreamer is forced to, say, work 18 hours a day in dreadful circumstances, he or she will still find a way to dream.  Dreamers are blessed with being dreamers.

Absolutely, there is a place for dreamers in this world! Without dreams and visions we perish. Dream the impossible then do the impossible!

Yes there is. We must not let those who have given up on their dreams persuade us to let go of ours. I always tell my kids to go for their dreams. By doing that I have a daughter who was accepted into SCAD for animation. She changed her mind at the last minute, deciding she would rather be an art professor. She still has the dream of creating a graphic novel that is published. I still dream of having a novel published. My dreams tend to change as I get older and my life changes. Just remember in the Sugarland song Baby Girl the last line sang is "Dreams come true!"...

Absolutly!!! If no one dreamed of bigger and better than we would stagnate. Dreamers can be forward thinkers and can move us in that direction in society. Dreamers come up with the ideas and inventions of the world.

I believe we all start out as dreams, no? We are a mere twinkle in our parents' eyes. If we can retain some of our true selves through our imaginations, then we can shake off the cookie cutter approach to life. It takes a lot of determination however, and one must surround herself with friends that support her dreams.  Whenever possible, we must encourage each others' dreams. Absolutely everything that exists was once a mere dream in someone's mind.
