The freedom of speech is 'talk over subject' today and its definition is modified constantly. It is tempting to look upon hot headed Muslim protesters in faraway lands as the ones who force us to modify 'the freedom of speech', however Western Liberals have the same profound belief that 'to be offended is the worst thing and however dares to cause offence must be made to pay'. There is no difference between radical Islamic offence taking and Westen liberal offence taking,
except that the first ones may prefer to get together as a mob to track down the causers of offence whereas we prefer to create a Twittermob from the comfort of our bedrooms and make an expression of rage against anyone who offends women, gays, ethnic minorities, environmentalists etc.
Is it possible to speak your mind, to introduce needs, interests and ideas without any hint of doubt that it may offence someone's intensely personal feelings?
There are many people around the world who are not free to speak their mind, but many of us, who have that freedom are voluntarily giving it up in our present world where we are ruled not by a reason but moral sentiment.
