Would you have a stronger action to help syria if you were Obama?
"Massacre in Homs leaves 45 women, children dead. I'm really disappointed in Obama, and Congress.
"Syrian forces and thugs" killed dozens of women and children in Homs, opposition activists said, hours after Kofi Annan met President Bashar al-Assad" CNN
After what has happened in Tunisia, Egypt and Libya, I think maybe he should take the same action as was taken in Libya.
Supporting those who want to oust a dictator, but not going in all heavy handed as was done in Iraq and at the moment Afghanistan.
No matter how frustrating it is to see people suffer. i think Obama needs to keep his focus at home and not spend millions liberating desperate dictatorships.
It tells me something when the Christians in Syria--over a third of the population by the account to me of a Syrian who was there when the supposed uprising began--are siding with Assad's regime. I was personally once in another Muslim country when an uprising was stirred up by Islamic outsiders (from outside that country), so I can relate to this Syrian said about his country.
So, if Islamist's from outside Syria began and is still keeping this "revolt" going, I'm not sure we want to support the revolt. Look what happened in Egypt--now the Muslim Brotherhood is steadily taking over the government. It will then, like in Turkey, change to sharia law and those who do not comply, Christians and Jews, will be kicked out or killed. We see this happening in other countries, too.
I do not want my country supporting that kind of outcome. So, I can see why at this time the Christian Syrians are siding with Assad's regime.
nope, in fact i would let them do what they have been doing for a long long time. i think it's a waste of time trying to help in the middle east or africa.
Before President Obama can do anything, several requirements must be met:
The first requirement is to be a part of a full NATO and Arab League collaboration. Russia and China are vetoing any NATO resolutions concerning Syria. The Arab League is still too full of oppressive and sorry regimes who are hanging on to power like Assad's in Syria.
The second requirement is for Syrians to form an opposition that is capable of running the country if Assad is deposed. Libya had such an opposition established and in place.
The third requirement is for the Syrian opposition to request more than money and weapons. The Syrians have been adamant that they do not want outside interference, just the money and weapons. No go on that!
Until NATO, Russia, China, the Arab League and any Syrian opposition organizations get it together, our hands are tied. Even if it all came together, we would only be able to do limited involvement.

Let's say Israel hadn't bombed the Syrian nuclear program into oblivion decades ago, or the world lets Iran develop nuclear capability and they ship some suitcase nukes to Assad, or North Korea sneaked some in. In any case, what I am posing is what if Assad had tactical nukes. Now,...

For the non connoisseur, it is a personal portable infrared homing surface-to-air missile. Its origin? The US. If someone seems to enjoy the attacks on the Syrian people it is the military industrial complex and by procuration our sweet Obama! Isn't their export strictly controlled? Any thoughts?

Is it not a little telling that it comes up at all? Questioning his nation of origin, and in other ways making reference to his race. It seems entirely irrelevant, though a person can definitely question many other things about his policies, and there's plenty of it to question. It seems his...
