Should your attorney always side with your opinion?
There are times when our opinion is wrong. This implies we have broken the law. Should your attorney seriously side with your opinion?
A good attorney will always size up where you stand relative to the scope and intent of the laws which apply. The service which an attorney provides is the interpretation of the law be it a local ordinance or a federal statute. Once that relevance has been determined, a reliable attorney will give you an assessment of what he believes your chances are of prevailing before a judge or a jury of peers. The attorney who will take your money when most would turn you away may be walking a line of poor ethics relative to his profession. As in medicine, most times it is a good idea to seek more than one opinion. WB
