Is there any hope in African countries in terms of economic prosperity for its people.
Now some Asian countries are enjoying some level of economic prosperity, do you think there is hope for Africa economically.
That depends on how well they self organize their Gov't and embrace a free market system. They certainly have areas within Africa that offer large resources.
This is a very complicated question. To prosper they must get a genuine (Non-Corrupt) Government into place. Somehow, Dispose of all of the warlords and rebels who have destroyed these great countries. Only then, When all of the corruption is taken care of, Will they prosper.
Corruption is in the DNA of African people especially GHANA where I come from with politicians lining their pockets with millions of dollars to the detriment of the people. But there is little hope because of democracy. Thanks for your good comment.
You are welcome my Friend. Hopefully the corruption will end.
If I follow my gut feeling, I will say there is very little hope for a large number of African countries to meet prosperity any time soon, unless maybe they have oil. Actually, I think we are going backwards. Look at Ivory Coast and Senegal for example, two former French colonies, both countries enjoyed some prosperity in the wake of their newly acquired independance, but over the years, inner fighting for power ruined both economies. As for other African countries who never enjoyed any kind of economic prosperity, they received a lot of help from better developed countries and the west in general, but unfortunately this help rarely makes it past the local corrupt governments. I find the whole process very upsetting, and I feel deeply for the volunteer people who go there and risk to be put in harm's way. And then I think of George Clooney, almost a one man crusader who doesn't have to do anything but takes risk in order to avoid a local conflict, and have the guts to appear in front of Congress to plead his cause. What an admirable soul, what an inspiration ! But I'm still not very optimistic for the near future
Spot on, corruption is killing that continent.
