Where were you on 9/11?
I was sitting at my desk when a coworker ran out of her office to announce a plane had hit the towers. Where were you when you heard the news?
I will never forget it. I had walked to a small break area where the employees gathered to smoke. The plant manager asked me if I had heard what was happening? I replied, No I had been very busy that morning and he told me along with around 10 other co-workers. My knees buckled and I began to pray. We Must never forget.
I was right there at Ground Zero. At the time, I worked for Merrill Lynch and worked across the street in the World Financial Center. When the planes hit the buildings, my building across the street shook like crazy. We all ran down the steps to the street - 28 floors. Once outside, I was standing a block away when the first building started to collapse on itself and I went running through Battery Park, hoping that I would somehow outrun the cloud that was descending at me. I was able to get to safety and then get home on the first Staten Island Ferry around 11:30. It was easily the scariest day of my life. I have a hub written about my experiences (it's very long) if anyone wants to read it.
I was at work with everyone there glued to the T.V. the whole day nothing got done. Just in pure shock at what we were looking at. It was realy hard to believe something that horrific was unfolding right before our own eyes.
across the water in Staten Island pregnant with my youngest child, welcoming my Kindergarten class to their classroom on their first full week of school. On the agenda was time outdoors because the weather was impecable. My cousin called and was screaming because she was running from the wreckage. She made it home, but so many others from my hometown did not. It was a terrifying day.
I was in Hong Kong on a layover due to come home on the 12th. My flying partner woke me up and told me to turn on my TV. There is twelve hours difference between HK and NY. I like so many saw our United Flt 175 hit the south tower 17 minutes after AA flt 11. For the last 18 months I have been writing articles in a series called "Remembering 911" and posting them on my Hub pages. I have retrieved so much more information on what happened on those flights and am trying to bring focus to the crews which totaled 33.
It was on Saturday the 15th I returned from Hong Kong on my United ft 2 and the shift in Los Angeles as across this nation was incredible. Leaving on the 9th with most things in order and returning on that Saturday was like entering a Twilight Zone Movie. Dogs, military with guns, policemen, barracades, horns honking, and U.S. flags being displayed out many car windows was like something unreal. It was definitely a shift in our world and a shift within people taking for granted our nations freedoms. After 911 our airline employees had not only lost thousands of jobs but had mental and physical issues. To add to all of this horror our companies turn their backs on us as if it didn't happen.

I was teaching Brit lit to my seniors. A fellow teacher/friend came in and told me about the first attack, and we all thought it was a tragic accident. Then he came back to tell me about the second plane. All the teachers turned on their TVs and regular teaching pretty much shut down. Hubby was...

I know you spend quite a bit of time here on Hubpages making friends and following people. But, how good of a neighbor are you to the real human beings that live closest to you? Do you even know them. Who really is your neighbor?

It's OK to disagree with the governments version of what caused the twin towers and building 7 to collapse on 9/11. A new campaign for truth, and a recent poll shows that 1 in 2 Americans have doubts about the official version of 9/11 as well . . . When you watch the video, your own eyes tell...
