Which nation do you believe will be the leading economic power in next decade?
China and India. Simply because they have the highest population and so also have the highest number of consumers and workers. Both China and India in 2012 focus their populations on education and so will have the highest number of highly skilled workers too. I expect the UK and America to fall somewhere to the middle or bottom of the leading economic power table. Australia and Canada I think will also emerge as leading economic powers in the next decade. America was the great economic superpower but it's budget deficit and its large scale security issues will make it harder for America to stay high up their in the league of Economic superpowers.
If you been asked to select one from China and India, what would be your choice?
ERmm.....I think India. In real terms China stands the best chance of growth because of sheer large numbers of population. But China's economic growth may slow down because it's government is hostile towards economics.
In my opinion, this will be China. Because of cheap labor, non-monitoring of pollution, high tariffs, cyber stealing ideas for products from other Countries, and basically not having any rules when playing the game. They are simply cheating by not playing by the rules that other nations trade by.
It will be one of the far-eastern nations; Japan or China. The US will be their global junior-partner if it doesn't kick off into a religious civil war after its economic slowdown occurs. The future of the world lies in economic and social re-structuring, developing energy, space exploration, and the death of Monotheism.
It will still be the United States. As much as China is emerging, its still a communist dictatorship and I can't see it having a dominant economy until that changes. India is still a socialist country, Japan is in decline although will remain an economic powerhouse.
Don't you see that China has reached here in the same capacity, the communist dictatorship.
I believe China has only gotten as far as it has by implementing some free market reforms but I doubt it will continued to do so unless the communist regime is toppled or steps down which may happen.

Whom should we blame that China is fast overtaking the U.S. as a leading economic power?

Do you believe the sovereignty of the United States is being eroded - diminished?I see my beloved country, the United States, eroding and being diminished. What do you think? I'm not gonna argue it, though I may come in later and post my opinion, but I wondered if many people here would agree with that term as an apt description of our country. Additionally she says“Lest anyone try to convince you that God should be separated from the state, our...
