It's Apocalypse Eve! How are you dealing with the crazy?

Since tomorrow is the supposed 'end of the world', what are you doing? Hanging out with your family? Having a huge party? How are you celebrating this crazy addition to our normal holiday bustle?

I'm trying to ignore the "End of the World" craze. The Bible states that as long as we believe the end is near, the end will actually be farther away. So I'm not concerned about that. I'm more worried about driving around tonight. There will be plenty of people who think the world will actually end and spend the night partying and doing whatever they wish. The police will also be out in full force. This might be a challenging evening.

I'm having bananas and gingerbread cookies and listening to REM. I was thinking about making a tinfoil hat just in case, but I don't know if we have enough tinfoil. Also, I'm writing some Hubs just in case Google doesn't know it's the end of the world.

Nothing special. Just ignoring the hype and going about business as usual.

I'm going to have a couple of beers and laugh at the people who are worrying about it.

I'll be drinking from aluminum cans... that should be enough to deflect the crazy rays.

I have to giggle every time I see something about preparing for the end of the world.  It's sort of a "what part of end do you not understand" reaction, but it's sad, because obviously people are not thinking.

I've heard of young people being really terrified--doing that to them is criminal, and I have a friend with relatives who are "preparers."   They've "prepared" several times, actually, for the end of the world, and don't seem embarrassed that the predictions have been wrong.  Nothing to laugh about, really, since the blindness is so sad.

Your first commenter has an interesting thought.  Be extra careful out there until the people who think the end is tomorrow see that the next day's dawn breaks.  May they embrace the Light of the World.

The same way I did the day before Apocalypse Eve - praising God and thanking Him for life.

Nothing special for me too, just doing my daily life activities as always. If something happen like disaster and such, I just try to keep my self calm and figure things out.

My kids asked if they could open Christmas presents on 12/20, because the world might end. I asked who told them this. They mentioned names. I challenged the kids, "Ask X and Y if THEY have Christmas presents, and if they have to wait until 12/25 to open them."
My nine year old reported the next day, "Yeah, X has Christmas presents, and he can't open them until Christmas. Or maybe Christmas eve."
"Then you know that his family doesn't really think the world will end, either."
