Not any time soon, and not by raising the debt ceiling and increasing borrowing from other countries.
In my opinion we need to do several things.
First complete overhaul of the tax law that doesn't put the squeeze on the people that actually spend money, the middle and lower class. Allow the only tax breaks for people making over 1 million dollars is what they re-invest in American companies.
Second is to cut government spending severally. We really don't need government funded studies on why some monkeys chew gum on the left side of their mouth versus the right side.
Third is to bring the military home until they are needed to defend our country, not invade other countries.
Fourth is to change import/export taxes. Quit letting cheap made junk from overseas come into the country at minimum taxes, while they tax our goods at a higher rate. Tax foreign imported goods at what they tax our goods.
Fifth is to quit investing so much in military might and invest in our education system to bring about a generation of highly educated technologically advanced people to bring America to the forefront in technology.
It will take many years to reduce the deficit, but it will never happen if we don't put a throttle on the government "living outside their means."
