Which politician, state or organization in the US is suggesting a total ban on all gun ownership?

I have read most of the debates here, and have googled trying to find an answer ... but I still can't find any evidence of actual proposed abolition of gun ownership in the US. Can anyone point me in the direction of a credible source, please?

There isn't one.  But the insurgents and insurrectionists of the NRA don't see it that way.

The closest might be the Violence Policy Center, but they just want to have Firearms regulated like any other product.

Thanks, TPC. I was wondering if it was just an extremist reaction, as opposed to an extremist policy.

I thought perhaps there was a proposed bill that was lost among all the outcry. You have answered that question for me. Thank you.

    Thanks, TeaPartyCrasher.
I wrote a couple of hubs on the issue, having heard that the US was talking about introducing gun laws similar to ours in Australia. But I was starting to think I was missing something.
So many people write as though a total ban is definitely on the agenda that I just wanted to check. Thanks again for clearing that up. smile

The answer is NONE,  I take it to you believe this question makes a point?  It doesn't,  There are many hubs on this issue.  Why?  Many many more are killed because of drunk driving yet none of you gun haters want booze out lawed?  You don't advocate stricter laws on drunk driving?   Let us outlaw spoons and obesity will go away also!  ................dont' spoons make you fat?

Drunk driving is illegal. It doesn't stop all drunk drivers, but it does save a few lives, which is the point of more gun laws. I can't force someone to become obese with my spoon, but I can force them to die with my gun.

Patriot Quest, your assumption is inaccurate. I am not a gun hater. I own guns. There are photos to prove it in two of my hubs. smile

The point of my question is to find out if there's a real reason for the fear of abolition in the US. Seems not. smile
