I think you're forgetting how dummycrat president Carter made things so much worse. But it's not surprising that you would skip over one of the worst presidents in our history.
Do your history work on Jimmie Carter and then understand what Reagan had to straighten out. I was very much right in the middle of era and old enough to have lived it.
Cassie: And I'm not surprised you forgot "Repo"blicans Ford, Bush and Bush. I don't see them at the top of the list either. When Republicans and their Tea Party buddies can solve their own internal issues, they can be viable. Quit playing blame game.
LOL @ IDONO. You should take your own advice. Your entire post was blaming the Republicans for everything. You must be Obama in disguise. LOL!
Cassie: Reading your comments throughout this whole question leads me to believe that you are just chronically pissed off. Is the sarcastic, smart-ass attitude yours alone, or that of the entire Republican Party? Tea Party would love you! Not LOL

That's the problem with your party,IMO.You all think a country should be looked on as a business! It's not. It's a bond we make together to live as a people, not a profit-churning venture. As it is now, he Robber Barons have 90% taken over.muststopthem
Actually, Old Poolman, our government, in many ways, learned from many of our businesses, large and small. I don't have numbers, but manu businesses don't survive on profit. They survive on cash flow. Our govt has plenty of that.
One year? Let's say the business would close in 3 MONTHS if it was run the way the present"administration/government" was run!

Both parties didn't waste 24 billion, Republicans did. Time to be honest, or we never change. Miz Bachmann said R's had never been so happy. We must deal from a place of REALITY. And Dems never "pulled this crap" they had to endure Bush, as did we al
I agree with you dashsco that both parties back then were not so antagonistic towards each other and found some way to compromise. But what I liked about Reagan is that he was able to promote conservative values without tearing down the other side.
I disagree that Reagan didn't tear down the other side. He was callous towards the poor (we're cutting their allowance), and scabbed the unions. He took out solar panels from White House roof..why? To sneer at alternative energy. ADF:"Welfare Queen".
lovemychris, Whether one agrees or disagrees with Ronald Reagan it cannot be argued that he helped make the nation stronger than what took place under Jimmy Carter. In 1984 he was re-elected in a landslide! Mainly because of "The Reagan Democrats"
Maybe because they fell into that false-flag hoopla that Carter was weak and allowing Iran to bully us, when in REALITY, HW Bush made deal WITH Iran to hold those hostages longer to help Reagan get in. Amazes me how we repeat history: Now ACA-Demon.
it's going to take a hammer to straighten out the mess Progressives have once again crated. Carter was the last one and this nutjob named Obama is worse than Carter ever thought of being.

No comment on the 24 billion spent on the partisan shut-down? I notice Boehner's Gym was allowed to stay open, and his salary continued. Cantor celebrated with expensive wine you paid for.....where is their "sacrifice"? ......Lot of talk, NO WALK.
"Russell Price is senior economist at Ameriprise Financial Inc. (AMP) in Detroit. He forecast the shutdown would shave as much as 0.5 percentage point from fourth-quarter gross domestic product."
So I guess the death panels won't be repealed...ever. You must be so glad.
Well death panels don't actually exist in any way that they did not before so...
The only death panels I'm aware of are the insurance company caps which allowed people to die when their allotment of funds ran out. That is gone now, thanks to the ACA.
To Josak, it's the new feature of Obamacare. Now that this turd law has passed, we are finding out what's in it. LOL!
It doesn't have to be repealed. It will die from stupidity.
The imaginary death panels can imaginarily be repealed anytime you choose to rejoin reality.
Sarah Palin introduced the imaginary death panels......stupid isn't the half of it. Try demented.
Nor has it died EVER.
UNDER THE LAW a monopoly is established that states you may choose any participating primary care provider who ACCEPTS you as a patient. Doctors are opting out of the exchange program. This means death panel has been established by the law.
