   What is the solution to the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants now living in the U.S?
   
   The majority are believed to be from Mexico. Others are those who came here on legal visas but did not leave the country when they were supposed to, and are now here illegally.

      90 percent of them do not make enough to pay income taxes.  But they will pay social security.  And, if you make them citizens, then they will soon be drawing social security at an alarming rate and bankrupt the system earlier than now expected.

      Perry, Sorry to prove you wrong but a person on min. wage pays over 900 dollars into SS. That would $9.9 Bill  into the SS fund annually.  Lets not forget employers match that so double the figure. 19.8 billion extra in SS will be bankrupt it. WHAT!?

      Sorry Foodeee - but I did indicate they will pay SS, but it will never keep pace with the payout burden that they will place upon the system.  Your calculations are also quite inflated since many of the 11 million will never hold a job requiring a w2

   I believe there needs to be a legal path to citizenship which is an amnesty of sorts. This should be temporary though along with a warning of stiff border enforcement for those who may try to enter the country illegally in the future.
   
   There also needs to a requirement for future immigrants that there is no welfare for at least 5 years upon entering the country. It may be a good idea for them to demonstrate that they have skills to support themselves, so as not to rely on the government.
   
   One idea is to issue green cards to illegals already in the country, with citizenship attainable by learning English and American history, Including the Constitution. Also a demonstrated effort to find employment and keep a job should be another requirement.
   
   Those illegals in our prisons for serious crimes should be deported when their terms are up. Criminals other than political dissidents should not be allowed entry unless they can prove good citizenship for at least 10 years in their country of origin.

      Looks like youʻve already put some thought into this issue. The 5 year no-welfare rule is a good idea. Border enforcement has to be a priority or weʻll just keep having illegal immigration in the future.

      There is a legal path to citizenship. They can easily get a green card and then apply for naturalization. They don't want to. They can get all the right without any of the duties.

   Regardless of situation, the illegal immigrant now living in the U.S. is breaking the law.  Each situation must be administered according to the law.  Each situation must be ranked based on the law and so each illegal immigrant must be placed into the current system at a position within the immigration network as current policy permits.  Those that are determined under current policy to be returned to their nation of origin shall be expelled and those that are determined under current policy to stay shall be properly documented so that they may continue to pursue the life they so desire.  Justice is what we desire, and so, by utilizing the existing policy, justice is what will be achieved.

      I agree that the law has been broken, but itʻs a conundrum.  Theyʻll never get 11 million people into the court system because our courts are already overwhelmed with our citizens who are breaking the law.

      11 million people can be processed through the courts by beginning with a single person or family and then proceeding to the next.
      No individual can eat a whole cow or pig with a single bite; however, after slicing & dicing, they can.

      Keep in mind that most of these cases can be handled by officials currently working in the field. No court time would be needed. I don't know the numbers employed by ICE and related orgs but much of the problems could be solved by them alone.

   Those who come here from infants to 17 should get legal status or have the option to establish some type of residency. They have to prove it. However, I don't believe in amnesty because it doesn't address the issue.
   
   We keep bio metric of immigrants or illegal immigrants who have been captured and/or deported. I believe to send the message home, bill the country of origin that the illegal immigrant is from. If the country blows us off, set the quota for those coming in from that country.
   
   Child labor laws have unwittingly created a demand for illegal immigrants. Many state laws do not allow those under 18 to operate machinery such as tools, forklifts, and other machines (exceptions are those learning apprenticeships or working in a family business). Yet we allow 16 year old teens to drive a car which I find ironic. If we change the law allowing minors who work in the farm, grocery store, etc (16 or older) to operate power equipment safely, it'll create less demand on illegal immigrants in that aspect.
   
   Border security- we have 5 branches in the military. Use them for security operations to support CBP. We don't do that as often. The National Guard units can augment much of these positions as well. Setting up more patrols will deter smugglers who exploit migrants who want to come here.

      You make a good point about the child labor laws. We all want kids to be safe, but it has gotten to the point where high school teens can hardly get a job anywhere anymore.
