A structure can be compromised until you reach a point that endangers the entire building, If compromise continues the building falls and all inside die.
I think that some in Washington and many citizens see this analogy being played out with the fundamental principles of this country. The fundamental structure or super structure of America is contained within the Constitution and this is what many people feel is being compromised. The Bill of Rights is, essentially, the freedom to achieve and with that the complimentary economic structure of free enterprise, which results in something called individual freedom. There is also something called co-equal branches of government. One will theoretically prevent the others from evolving into a dictatorship.
Democracy is not a safeguard of freedom, never has been and never will be. To think otherwise is fantasy. Greed of the voter, greed of the politician. exploitation of the greedy voter by the greedy politician ensures a collapse of a free society. Much as we now see in America. History makes this a reality as Hitler and Mussolini, both were democratically elected through fallacious promises, as we have seen with Obama.
The ACA is a good example. The Bill of Rights does not contain the right to health care, but the right to achieve it. Education is not a right, housing is not a right, employment is not a right, social security is not a right and again you do have a right to achieve such things. That a government as the giver and benefactor of such things nullifies the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, individual freedom and America.
Perhaps, this is what many see and one side wants more socialism and the other side says no. What compromise would you suggest?
It is said that, "Democracy is the only road to socialism." With that, "Socialism is the only road to Marxism." The first quote is from Karl Marx. The second quote is common sense.
It is not a question of compromise, as all the compromising has been done and we are here. It is now a question of some form of socialism, Marxist Socialism or the Constitution. Consider, if you will, the history of achievements regards that of socialism and those of America. If you seek perfection, a Utopia, one has the choice of dying and going to a place called heaven, because they do not exist on this planet.
