Why IS the American media fueling  the division between white and black America ?

Racism is almost dead in the water in America and enough of this "don't shoot the messenger " but  Why is the American media  actively  pushing for separation  between blacks and whites in race relations ? Anyone out there in the media willing to answer this honestly  ?

The American Media is a "for profit" business model.
The goal is to score high ratings, sell newspapers/magazines, or garner more "click throughs" online. The more viewers, listeners, or readers there are the higher fees the media can charge their advertisers and sponsors.
Racism is and always will be a hot topic in the U.S. regardless of the reduction of overt instances. It is the goal of every media outlet to report on things that are "the exception" as oppose to "the norm" or a typical day in most of our lives.
There's an old news media adage: "If it bleeds it leads"
People don't tune in to watch "the norm". If the story is not "the exception" it won't make the news. Whatever is the "hot topic" that people seem to be following stays in the news and will continue to get more play. There is no grand plan to separate the races!
    Ratings equals money!
If you get a chance to see the movie "Nightcrawler" you'll gain some insight.
Every news program starts off with the most shocking or offensive news story they can find to grab our attention. If things are "slow" in your neck of the woods they'll report on something from around the world.Towards the end of the program they'll tack on a "feel good" story.

It is the long term agendas that bother me , Do they work for powers behind the scenes ?

Though I'm not 'media qualified' to answer your question my friend, I just had to come look at the responses you would get.  As dashingscorpio pointed out, when you 'follow the money', you'll find your answer.
I learned that term while serving on the Inyo County (California) grand jury in 2002.
It seems to hold most of the answers, unfortunately.
    Take wonderful care ahorseback,

In my humble opinion, I think it is because the media think the events over the last year with cops and blacks is "sensational" and whoever writes the best story gets paid more, so they keep trying to top each other.  Yet, there is a part of me that believes it is all a way to fuel the desire by someone high up who wants to bring down our police force and install select military that are anti-America. You see, if martial law is declared, there will be no election and guess who stays in control? Just my opinion.

American media is controlled by special interests and like Mr.
Dashingscorpio said: "profit". The stories have to be sensational and shocking, to get viewership. It is interesting though, that for example CNN, or even the BBC will keep showing racial division in North America but they will not mention the Israeli Embassy being riddled with bullets a few weeks ago, in Athens: http://globalnews.ca/news/1723132/shots … wn-attack/

Some things are to be talked about, some aren't.

While I think the money aspect is probably a major moving force; I think these media types are more interested in pushing an agenda. They came to the conclusion that there is a race war between cops and blacks and now they keep trying to prove it. Exactly what the end game is, I do not think even they know or even have one. The more division they can cause the more right they are in reporting it as such.
Funny but we see it in internet "forums". Folks who claim there is a discord generally go around causing discord to prove they are right.
They are also giving the people what they want which is entirely worrisome on a whole higher level.
I would like to learn more of the facts regarding these matters but I swore off reading about it because the bias was so horrible. So to me the bias is against cops and that tells us something about our media from the get go.
I will make a blanket statement: Media hate police. Unless they need them.

The secret agenda is fear conditioning. If you notice, most of the stories carry a police presence. This is to provoke the idea of authority. You will usually see a police car parked in the background. As for black and white, its the hotter story. If you say, asians, latinos, indians etc., you will not get much of a response or reaction. Whites and Blacks tend to be more vocal about right and wrong and fighting for changes with protests in America. When was the last time you've seen another minority march on Washington? One man's gain, is another man's loss. So to inject the idea of not getting along tends to favor the majority. At least on the appearance level. In reality, the people are individuals, not a herd. Each person decides who they will associate with or not regardless of the devices of the media or politics. But harmony does not upset people, only evil and negativity does.

Since, the media actively supports the liberals and the Democrat party, racial division serves them in a number of ways.

    1) Liberals in politics give the left wing media special access to events and important people that would not be available otherwise.

2)The media is a business that targets urban areas that are mainly liberal, So towing the liberal line on race relations, raises their ratings and butters their bread for them.

    3) Liberals believe that they're supposed to enlighten the ignorant masses. What better place to educate than to use the media

4)The politics of racial division is a major source of votes for the liberals and therefore is a source of power.

    5) It gives them a sense of importance and strokes their ego's. Colleges today are turning out journalists who feel their mission is to change the world not report the news.

    6) Accusing others of racism relieves them of any responsibility to examine themselves. Its also a convenient way to smear political rivals without repercussions.

They do it because it is payday for them....their information organization be it radio, tv, internet, print material 'sells' their product when they can keep a storm brewing. It is for them a money making issue and keeps things stirred up.
We do have racial tension in our country...but it is not one-sided....the races need to treat each other with mutual respect rather than looking for reasons to scream injustice.
I do not mean to over simplify the discussion...either. It is just a very complex topic that does require careful thought and attention. One way for individuals to get over the racial inequity is one person at a time...getting to know those of other races and hearing their concerns rather than feeding off the frenzy that the media stirs up.

Actually, racism -- injustices and discrimination due to racial prejudices and privileges -- is as bad in America now as it has ever been. One of the studies that shows this is THE NEW JIM CROW by Alexander. I expect to attend an introductory antiracism training workshop soon.

Your question overgeneralizes "the media". Newspapers, magazines, websites, stations, etc. come in many varieties, with many perspectives. Which particular ones are you faulting for what particular actions?

Racism is already entrenched. What's needed is fueling antiracism.

Major news media are owned by corporations owned by investors who want to protect and expand their wealth and power. Organized discontented wage earners threaten that. So I speculate mass media propaganda is used to keep people at odds and disunited.
