How is America thought of across the world?

How do other countries see America and Americans? Is this a positive image or negative image and why are we seen in this way?

    Hello again smile
In this region (Pakistan/Afghanistan/Iraq) as well as in some of the Nigerian posts I've seen on BBC Africa, America is seen in a negative light, for the region.

Just to clarify a little, it is not usually seen as a bad country to live in, but its presence or political influence is too strong which makes the lives of the people living here difficult, because we have to follow what the America says or face sanctions.

The war on terror did not have an overall positive impact and millions of lives were affected. Bush went into Iraq claiming weapons of mass destruction, but they found nothing. Thousands of people were killed. full report here: http://www.costsofwar.org/

Rumours are that America is fighting ISIS yet funding ISIS too. Please have a look at this video if you have time.

I saw videos of two Nigerian army men saying we can fight boko haram, but America had instructed everyone not to sell ammo to the Nigerian army. In the end, Russia sold military equipment to Nigeria and within a matter of weeks they now stand and are in control of the former headquarters of boko haram. (they had taken over the northeast of the country). This brings up another question... if the Nigerian army can control boko haram who killed 2000 people in a single attack (using gorilla tactics) then why can't America finish off ISIS in all this time? Could they really be playing on both sides? Putting the lives of their own soldiers at risk? It is confusing.

"Pakistan is still facing the consequences of the US-led war", stated by the politicians here... the Peshawar attack where approx 132 children were brutally killed at school is one of those attacks, and we are still fighting in the afghan border.

Some Americans are absolutely right in saying that anything bad happens and we blame America even though it was our fault. I can agree with them to an extent and yes there are blames on America which are baseless, but once the word is out its quite hard to take it back. When I say "terrorist", the first thing you would probably think of is Islam or a Muslim, even though it is not true. Rumours have a very strong effect on us, and we can't do much about it except wait it out and let the truth reveal itself. If America really did have the correct intentions then we will see it, even if we don't see it now.

When I hear tterrorist I can't help thinking the US, because, we are agreeing with our government otherwise how would you reelect the same people? Now, that we know that dem=rep! why are we or shall I say they since I am not them, reelecting them?

According to you? This question would have been pertinent if it had the option good/bad but it doesn't therefore the majority of realistic people will agree upon using a negation.

Excuse me? According to YOU. Realistic people would see the reality of what others think of this country and answer the question. Do other countries see the US as having a good or bad reputation? Easy question.

You people are funny. Do you REALLY think that someone will say, yes America is a great country? Wake up!

To Defrost; If you don't like this country, the United States of America, why don't you get the hell out? My opinion, Greg
