I do not think that being educated in a western educational institution is a guarantee of good leadership in the political world. I know a lot of politicians in African countries with PhD from western universities whose behavior are worse than those politicians who have never been out of the countries. I think what Africa is missing is leaders with a strong vision for their countries. A vision always take strength of character, long term commitment, dedication, sense of sacrifice. A leader who is not ready to die for his dream is not a real leader. I am thinking of Martin Luther King, Ghandi. How many of those do we we have on our beloved continent today. The temptation is to name Nelson Mandela from south Africa. But who else besides him. I am an Afro-optimistic. I do believe that there is a silent majority of Africans dreaming to change Africa for the better. I am part of those, waiting for the right opportunity to go back home and change things. Africans need inspiration. we need to take our place.
