Do you believe that the Democratic Party has helped or hurt Black Americans?  Why? Why not?

Welfare rolled out in the 1960s to include unwed mothers and many black Democrat leaders who pushed everyone to sign up for it as reparations is directly responsible for the rise in the illegitimacy rate in the black community, now around 80%, when it was 25% in the 1960s.
And when you have unmarried parents, the odds of many bad life outcomes are 2-3 times higher such as: odds of becoming an addict, joining a gang, being held back in school, mental illness, being incarcerated, having a child out of wedlock, living in poverty.
Living together outside of marriage kind of like married isn't as good. If parents are married, 75% are together until the kids are 18. If parents are not married, 80%+ are split before the kids are 18. You also have a higher incidence of different children by different fathers when parents aren't married, because it isn't seen as bad as cheating on a wife/husband - and now you have more divided attention and poorer supervision than 2 kids by a divorced dad.
And when you only live together, many studies show they don't save for retirement, emergencies or kids' college - which is one factor in why blacks have a lower net worth than whites of the same income level.

More intergenerational poverty, more violent communities, lower net worth and worse life outcomes - all because the Democrat party pushed blacks to sign up for welfare in mass and then keeps them angry and dependent for the votes.

As a child in the 1960s, I have noticed that the situation for the middle class has started to become a little worse since the ascension of the welfare state created in part by "the Great Society."   My late father SAID the same thing as you did..
