   Calling all atheists and agnostics - do any of you hate Christians?
   
   I suspect that atheists and agnostics do not hate Christians at all. They are simply expressing their incredulity of religion (all religion) in general. What say you?

   As an atheist I don't hate Christians. I also don't think most Christians are stupid. I try not to hate anyone if I can help it.

      As an atheist, I don't hate people either, no matter what their beliefs. I may disagree with them, but I don't hate them or try to impose legal sanctions on them.

   Nope! I respect everyone and their right to practice any religion they want as long as they are not actively trying to convert me or trying to shun me for not believing. If you can respect my right not to believe then I can respect your right to believe.
   Ps: Notice how I did not write anything bad about believers unlike on other  questions where they ask why everyone hates Atheists. lol. Just an observation.

      I think that there are a few people that are like those people we lovingly say have "selective deafness" when it comes to certain topics. Some of us hear only what we want or expect to hear. We tune out the unpleasant stuff.

      Physiologically, hate is a chemical and hormonal assault on our own body. There is no such idea or its proponent that would make me hate myself so much as to hate them.

   I hate Christian extremists, just like I hate Muslim extremists. But right now, Christian extremists are not able to form a militia group, due to been a stable region. Some Muslim extremists are able to use the Afghan war during cold war era to form a religion extremists militia group

      I don't think hate is the right word. I think everyone has a strong dislike for any kind of extremism. Believers, as well as, non-believers. We really need to think before we act. or talk.

      True. A while ago, some Christian extremists group in the US want to revolt, after US recongize gay marriage, they spreading rumor [the great Christian persecution is coming]. They got on the FBI's radar and is on terrorist watchlist.

   Nope. Not in the slightest.
   
   Extremists of any faith annoy me, but hatred is probably too strong a word to use.
   
   I may not agree with them, and I may defend myself and atheism in general vigorously if necessary, but I don't hate those whom I'm defending myself against.
   
   When religion is used to restrict the human rights etc of others who disagree/dont share the faith/happen to be something that their faith disagrees with (gay, etc) - then it's the idea that one religion trumps all others and those that hold beliefs that differ that I dislike. I might find those who hold it annoying, but I don't hate them either.
   
   Even those few HP ones who harass etc - don't even hate them, even if they would fight to deny people like me rights.

   I'm not a hateful person. But sometimes I do feel a bit of that deep, pessimistic, destructive anger that I think we call hate. For me, it's the feeling that comes with receiving news of terrible injustices done in the name of religion, justified by treating an awful part of one holy book or another as an authority. But then I let the feeling pass as soon as it will go instead of holding on to it. I strive to never let it inform my actions or beliefs.
