The Unitedstates Constitution is a very good example of what a civilized society should follow, which naturally includes the bill of rights by extention. As has been said by one of our founding fathers. The Constitution is only as good as the moral character of those who faithfully use their rightousness in keeping the laws written through it's use within the spirit of the constitution and not to stray from it's true intent. It is only useful to those individuals of the highest moral character and no other.
That was hard to find even back then ,when the Constitution was written ,much less now.Sadly The unitedstates and it's people have not lived up to it's constitution. We only give lip service to it.In fact our constitution has become as George W. Bush said;"It' only a "blankety blankt "piece of paper" That would be like the pope saying that the bible was only a piece of paper. But ,then the pope says that vatican city is the nation of God on earth and that he is God's representitive .Who are we to question that? After all Jesus knew that Peter would betray him three times before his crusifiction and he still had faith that Peter would not deny him in the end ,before his own death. As for the religion that the Roman government eventually took control of and tried to make it a part of it's Government ,but failed ,it's the scarlet whore that is written about in revelations that protitutes herself to the nations of the world as being that which it is not. After all,it was the church that tried to keep the average whorshiper from reading it for themselves, when it was possible because of the printing press. Then it was rewritten a few times to keep certain passages out that they could not interpet or did not wish to be interperted for their own reasons.
I'm not saying that there are no individuals in government or religion that are faithfful to their respective documents, but how many are there, and what can a small group do? We shall see! After all our founding fathers were a small group, from a much larger one.
