Do you think under the weight of commercialization Gay Pride has lost sight of its identity?


The Financial Times of London, not primarily concerned with moral issues but with money, recently published an article entitled "The Business of Gay Pride" (google it). It turns out the gay pride movement and all it's assorted events were intended to be subversive of the larger culture. Many people are now asking from inside the movement whether or not that actually fits the situation in which corporate sponsors are falling all over themselves to try to reflect their own corporate image in gay pride events. Gay pride is now directed by people who have a background in events management.
