Yes, I think that it's totally lost sight of the movement. I think that the gay community kind of had a moment like Wile E. Coyote would have if he ever caught the Road Runner after the Supreme Court made it unconstitutional to disallow gay marriage; "What do we do now?" they asked. I remember that immediately afterwards there were stories of gays coming out and saying, "You know, I don't feel so special anymore. When we were outsiders to an age old institution, it made us feel like pilgrims." But not anymore. Especially now that its becoming "cool" to commercialize homosexuality.
But what I am more fascinated by is the total role reversal between Republicans and Dems with the value placed on homosexuals. Before the Supreme Court Ruling last June, Dems would have walked barefoot across football fields of broken glass to tell the LGBT community that they supported their movement, would fight for gay marriage, and that they would even be gay themselves if they weren't already legally married to a person of the opposite sex.
But now, gays get shot up in a night club and the Dems respond, "It was the words of those who had no involvement in the shooting, whatsoever, who are responsible for the shooting. And, by the way, we are going to grant asylum to people of the shooter's religion who are coming from countries that kill gays on sight. Some of these refugees may have even participated in these executions, but don't worry. I'm sure you will get along just fine with them."
Meanwhile, Donald Trump (and might I add Ted Cruz) has come out and said that we cannot allow bigots with the intention of harming our citizens into the country. He rightfully assigns blame to the person who was responsible for the shooting and is taking caution against others who might share a similar ideology as the shooter.
On the other hand, Hillary is having the father of the shooter sit behind her at campaign rallies. After all, he is a big fan of Clinton...and I bet his son was too. Too bad we'll never hear that story from the media.
(BTW I am not saying that all Muslims are dangerous and hate gays, I am just pointing out that there are Muslim groups that exhibit extreme tendencies that actively hunt down and kill gays in foreign countries)
