There is no need to be hysterical. I'm not saying that you are being hysterical, Grace Marguerite Williams, but what you report about the commentary of Mr. Nasheed sounds hyperbolic.
There are simply three questions that need answering:
1. Why is it the case that the United States of America has the highest incarcerated population in the entire world, bar none, at over two million?
2. Why are people of color, in a wildly disproportionate percentage relative to their population, make up fifty percent of this population?
3. What are we going to do about it?
There is no need to talk of "concentration camps." There is no need to speak of the National Socialists (Nazis) and the holocaust. Conditions in prison, particularly, the SuperMax, are probably quite horrendous enough; as is, no doubt, the extended periods of "solitary confinement" we hear about, that is so psychologically damaging.
