If you vote for Hillary and the country goes to H*** in a hand basket, are you willing to take part

of the responsibility because you voted for her? I know that if Trump wins I am willing to take part of the responsibility for what he does for our country because I voted for him.

No matter who gets elected president unless the (congress/senate) passes bills related to their agenda there won't be any real change.
The opposition party doesn't suddenly fold up it's tent and run for the hills. Unless one party controls all branches of government very few substantial changes will take place. Half the nation will be unhappy.
Bipartisan & compromise efforts no longer exist. It's party treason.
Whomever wins will have to deal with gridlock.

No one has ever pushed or even tried for some of the changes Trump is proposing. So, there is no way that you can say at least some of these things can't be done.

Greg, I can tell you congress will not approve funding to build a 1,954 mile wall, set up a force to deport 11 million people, bring back low skilled jobs from China, ban Muslim immigrants, tear up existing trade deals, tear up allied treaties.

You don't know the answers to any of those. If you do, I would like to know the numbers for the next lotto draw. Every one of those can be debated, and will be. But if they're not brought up they can't be settled.

I'm just a student of history and politics.
Here's my prediction if Trump were to win none of his big promises would get through congress. However while I'm at it I will go out on a limb and predict Clinton will win based upon the Electoral map

DS,I'm afraid you are going to remain a student & never graduate based on the test results I see u getting.DT, according to the latest polling, is ahead in states w/230 electoral votes and is tied in five states with a combined 54 more=284

We're already going to hell in a handbasket under Obama, how about starting there with those who voted for him.

That's true, but we do have an opportunity to go the other way even though it may not be the best choice, but he is better than what we have on the left hand, so to speak.

And yet Obama has higher approval ratings than Clinton & Trump! Unemployment is 4.9% and the stock market is hovering around all time highs.
Can anyone really say 2016 is worse than the "Great Recession"? Like him or not we're better off

Maybe in your opinion. But then, you are probably voting for Hillary too.

Talking pts,Labor Department says40.6%of the population is unemployed. The real unemployment rate, U6, is significantly above pre recession levels,at 10%.16 million people are underemployed or unemployed. Not worse than 2009 but not good.

Dont Taze Me Bro, I agree the state of the economy isn't great but it's better than it was 2009! And yet some folks seemed to have forgotten how bad things were. Shot-term memory loss.
Greg, FYI- I wanted John Kasich for president.

Yeah but that isn't really the issue either. The issue is we have the worst recovery in history, are still on the brink of recession with GDP growth under 2% &the reason is Obama's policies, recovery could have been faster &deeper,w/less harm

Greg I have to go one up on you. I have traveled abroad fairly extensively from the time of Carter thru last month. I vote and I fully take responsibility for actions of those I vote for. But when on the outside I take full responsibility for any sitting elected official, my choice or not. I truly believe that neither candidate is the Devil incarnate. Mistakes; they have made a few -- but as the song goes so did Frank Sinatra and I still loved him as a musician.
I recently got to hang out with the people (like Chiefs of Staff) for Representatives from So. Cal. to NY. Our DC people are not out to do evil. They are out to do what they think is their duty to the country. Obviously the Bridge to Nowhere and protection of our embassies really stink up the place. I clearly do not agree with many goals on either side of the isle or the Capital.
Back to the traveling. I have been to those so called quality of life places like Scandinavia an Bali. They are toadies and lock steppers without rational conflict with encroaching and overbearing governance.
If my nation fairly elects a President then I am honor bound and responsible to be a proper supportive citizen under them and far more importantly under our Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights and Constitution.
I don't like a whole lot of stuff about our full court system. But I remain convinced that we are a nation of laws and not of men. Our ideals do not waiver and we stand true to democracy.
What is going on now is like the man who complained that his new shoes hurt his feet until he saw the man with no feet working for a living without complaint.

I cannot tell you what will happen if Trump gets elected, but I can tell you he can't possibly be as corrupt, callous, and treasonous to America's interests as Clinton has already proven herself to be.

I am not going to get into a big dissertation as to past experiences and how I know what I know, because of this or that... age and experience in related matters is critical in being able to project ahead... I have more than most, less than some.

What has become abundantly clear to all who want to do just a little bit of research with open eyes, is that Clinton is guilty of committing treason, guilty of racketeering on a world wide level, guilty of being callous and uncaring (at best) if not a dangerous war mongerer.

Clinton will sell us all out to the highest bidder, while leading us into senseless war against Russia and or Iran and anyone else she can fit on her plate. It is crazy that the media is supporting  her knowing all we know now, we are all going to pay the price, rich or poor, if she gets elected.

So yes, I will live with the results of my vote if he wins, because where the alternative will lead us is fairly clear to me, and it is not a direction I would willingly agree to.

Of course, I would!  That's what honorable people do.  They say "I was well-intention-ed, but I was wrong." Why would you even ask such a question?  Why would you assume that I, as a Democrat, would be any less honorable than you? I wouldn't insult you with a question like that.  I wouldn't even be so rude as to reply to you now in this excerpt, except that I am disgusted with this whole "I'm-a-nobler-person-than-you-are nonsense."  Of course, there are Trump voters who are Looney Tunes and the same of Hillary voters.  Those are the minority.  I didn't respond to any comments or questions on hubpages up until these last two weeks, but I've been pushed over the edge. Let's just assume that you are well-intention-ed and honorable and so am I and leave it the H*** at that!

You sound like a typical elitist liberal"How dare you ask a question like that! My inference is that you are indignant at asking it so you shouldn't be allowed to ask it, you should be chastised for asking it, if only I could censor you."

You have every right to ask the question. My question was "Why" would you?
BTW liberal and elitist are a frame that is perpetuated to paint a picture. If you want to pair liberal and thoughtful, fine, just as conservative and thoughtful can be paired

The picture paints itself, and you fit the frame perfectly as revealed by your expressed elitist attitude which is obvious.

I have no power,no money.I live month-month in a cheap 5th wheel RV w/o a truck. I buy my shoes at K-Mart, my purses at Target.I have no retirement money.I don't get govt money other than accepting my 30 years of SS. I guess I must be elitist then

Exactly, just what an elitist would do,give reasons why they do not consider themselves elitists when all I said is"You sound like a typical elitist liberal" Didn't say you r. Elitism is a state of mind, not of your demographic so u could be.
