"Will God grant the USA the peace to move forward again?"
God has nothing to do with our peace. God has given us Free Will to exercise ourselves. The question should be "will we make the right decisions and bring ourselves the peace to move forward again?" If it doesn't happen, there are always those who will blame God. Meanwhile, God will watch us from above, shaking his head, and saying "tsk, tsk, those crazy humans are at it again. When will my children grow up?"
OK, there are those of us who believe that God is spirit and not a "Big person with a head to shake," but you get the picture. As far as changing the rules after the contest, that should only apply to those six states that allow people to go back and change their votes because vote changing should be made illegal unless the person accidentally hit the wrong button. Then the change should be made immediately, and not two weeks later after the votes have been unofficially tallied. Questioning the existence of the Electoral College has been around since its inception. Many voters have wanted to do away with it because it takes away the direct vote of the people.
We were taught in junior high civics classes that this was a method of giving more power to the less populated states, however, this doesn't make sense because there is inconsistency among the laws that govern the electors of each state. For instance, twenty-six states have party pledge laws, while the rest do not. Some states split their electoral votes proportionately among the candidates. Also, there have been a number of candidates who received the majority of popular votes but lost the election. The last two who come to mind are Al Gore and Hillary Clinton, both Democrats, so there is room here for some suspicion and for some of the losing candidate's supporters to grumble. So please, don't put our human inadequacies on God.
