Do not know really except that maybe some have hope.  It does not surprise me that many, many people thought getting this country back on track was going to be a quick and easy fix.  This country comes together after tragedies like 9/11 and hurricane Katrina but we fail miserably on coming together for this country and it's people.  I may not always agree with our current President or former one's but at least he has tackled issues like health care that other's swept under the carpet and ignored it, even though it is a problem.  As for the economy, he did not get us in this horrific mess and we did not get into it after he took office.  Many that stand around and complain or can not find common ground with those that they disagree with would not for all the tea in China want to take his job.  I applaud him for not losing faith in the American people.  Whether you agree or disagree with the current administration I figure we can all agree that we are in trouble.  So instead of being reactive be proactive in finding solutions and do so with respect and integrity.

But it does seem that "working together" almost always means joing with the agenda that the party in power is pushing, whether is was the Iraq War with Bush or Health Care with with Obama.  I dont want to work together if I think your idea is crap.

i believe they reacted positively because he said what everyone wanted to hear. but he continues on the socialist track after the speech. he refuses to let his idea of health care reform die. the only reform we need is the frivolous law suits must be stopped. the only problem with our health care is the costs. that is always driven up by the costs of liability insurance the doctors and hospitals have to pay. how can a person who makes 50,000 a year sue for 5 million because he had his appendix out instead of his tonsils. it's insane.
the spending and taxation will continue to rise and after all is said and done, he will fail as president if it continues. uncle harry will dump on him as will auntie nancy. his supporters will look away in shame and his opponents will laugh with glee.
if he reads and understands the constitution, then abides by it, most all americans will see that he was a successful president. maybe his advisers should tell him that, but that would take them off course for their agenda.
