   Why does our President think it is right to take away health insurance options?
   
   The tax on "cadillac" health insurance policies will force employers to either pass along the additional costs or lower the plan options. How is this a good idea in a country based upon freedom of choice? Once we are forced to accept the basic health insurance option, where will the revenues come from to pay for health care??

   The people that can afford to pay more, and thus get all these bells and whistles, SHOULD.
   
   You are never forced to accept the "basic health insurance option" - if you have healthcare already your coverage will not change, and honestly - once the law is in effect for a while, you will see a line of politicians on both sides ready to go after the insurance companies, which is the one thing that NEEDS to happen.

   personally, i think that every single penny that was over charged customers should b fully repaid back in2 their pockets by the ins comps who charged them super-high premiums. i think obama's original intent on health care is 2 make it more affordable so ALL who'd gone uninsured will b more able 2 pay 4 it. it's not fair 4 the poor 2 b denied just b/c they can't pay. i also think that those stimulous checks that were originally supposed 2 go 2 those on fixed income should b reinstated 2 b paid out. i don't think that the govt should have taken back those 2010 stimulous checks that were meant 4 the poor; there was lack of increase in their checks despite the cost of living increase (rent/utilities)

   i disagree with you jay. those who can afford to pay more just work harder than others and either got lucky at promotions or just are smarter and make more than others. with your way of thinking, a poor man goes and buys a loaf of bread for $1 and a rich man should pay $4 for the same bread. if his bread comes with butter and sauces, then yes he pays more for the upgrade. but the rich should not be punished for just being rich. most of them earned it.
   as far as the insurance companies paying back their profits , why? are they not in business to make money and by doing so creating jobs. we sit here on our computers and some of us bitch about the rich having too much and not sharing. how many jobs were created by the invention of the personal computer? all the manufacturing, distribution and internet jobs. all the web pages, advertisement and so on. yet some want to demonize mr. gates for being rich. if you don't like a product don't buy it. if you hate the rich, stop buying anything. live off the land, ride a horse and stop using electricity. i have lived that way and it can be done.
   the rich either give jobs to us or create jobs from their products or ideas. i'm glad i live in a country where i had the chance to get rich. i never did and am quite poor, but i had as much of a chance as did mr. gates or mr. obama.
   do you know how rich he is?

   The health care system is broken.  Communizing it will make it worse.
   All the corporate lackey employees, and union and government sponges will scream bloody murder at this suggestion, but it is the only solution:
   
   No company, union, government agency or other organization shall contribute to an employee's health insurance costs.  Anyone, employee or on their own buys their own, and at the same cost as others in their demographic.  THAT WILL LEVEL THE PLAYING FIELD.  That will get rid of a lot of corruption, payola, and bureaucracy.  And it will lower costs.

   It's really not a matter of whether he thinks it is right or not.  It is the fact that he feels that Americans have no right to that choice.  Those people who make up much of the majority of America are hard-working people who possess a good work ethic and do expect to pay for their healthcare.  My employer uses the benefits of a great healthcare package to attract and retain me in his employ.  It's part of the competitive edge of the market place.  Now, all but the elite class within the elected structure of our government will have but one choice.  I don't care which side of the aisle you sit on...that's socialism in its truest sense.  Government has no business in the healtcare industry.  It seems to think it has no business in the area of tort reform given that most of the legislators are lawyers. Hypocrisy reigns the day.
