I don't think there is any need to be either forceful or silent about ethical/moral views.
I feel that everyone is fully entitled to their opinion, and as long as that opinion isn't dangerous, criminal, or will cause anything or anyone harm, then as individuals I/we can respect the differing opinions of others surely?
Some people find it very difficult when their opinion isn't shared by others and feel somehow threatened by the differences of opinion. If a differing opinion is handled sensitively with an, "I understand what you're saying, but don't agree..." etc., then hopefully that can be enough without causing any arguments.
