    When is it justifiable for protesters and activists to break the law for the sake of their cause?

    It can be look at Rosa Parks...breaking the law in such a way that you aren't hurting anyone but making a statement is sometimes necessary for change. However, protesters should still expect the punishment for breaking the law...which then leads to an out cry from the public, la-de-di-da and new laws are formed....and that is when it is acceptable...Malcolm X I find unacceptable on the other hand...Horrible figure for people to look up to MLK was the man to look up to. Promote peace for your causes not violence.

    You have to ask yourself ! Who made the law and for what reason! If,a law is made arbitralily. you have to ask yourself these questions. What makes you think there are no activists in the government?

    When freedom and liberty are in danger of being taken from the individual.  Otherwise the American Revolution, Civil War, and WWII would never have been fought.

    It should never come to breaking the law. It doesn't do any good, it is not a proper or effective way to raise awareness.  Peaceful protests, petitions, organized units talking to people face to face or over social media without pointing blame on race, religion, or sex is the best method. While the riots in Ferguson are getting attention it is negative attention and makes others less empathetic to the cause. Instead of gaining support people are turned off by the violence and the destruction of the city.
