Would you vote for a Christian Latter-Day-Saint to be the President of the US? Why?
I can't be sure, but it seems like the general populace would rather go with a Christian Pres. candidate who is willing to compromise Christian values for political status.
Surely the only thing that matters is whether the candidate is able and willing to fulfill his/her campaign promises.
Their religion should not be relevant.
People who want to live in a theocracy should go to live in Iran.
If that person "compromised" their "Christian values" for "political status" then, that person would no longer be a religious person. That's how I understand the question.
As long as priests stay out of politics, we might salvage the system. That's all we need in our chaotic times, delusional lunatics and/or pedophiles in charge of the political system ...
I can vote for anyone of a conservative Christian orientation if they can keep their religion away from their job. I don't expect a Baptist president to run the country as the Baptist see fit. I expect him to separate church from state and keep his religion more or less as a personal matter. America is very much a Christian nation founded on Christian principles and shaped in the same manner. There are those who would love for us to turn our backs on that "center line" in our society and basically embrace chaos as our guiding direction. We see that effort to take the references to God out of the founding documents, to remove the trust in God from our money, to demonize prayer in public places...the list grows steadily. If we don't where we came from then how are we going to know where we are headed? WB
If you could find an LDS candidate that didn't want to indoctrinate the country with his/her beliefs, maybe, but I highly doubt you could. I live in a very predominantly LDS area, and the LDS people in power around here use their positions to push their religious agendas at every turn. Whether you believe in their religion or not, that is wrong in my opinion.
Are you sure that's not spelled L.S.D. instead of L..D.S LOL!

I am really curious about what other women think; because I've only recently started paying attention to politics since the media is ramping up Trump so much, lately. Before that, I'm sorry... I was not even SORT of paying attention to any other candidate from any party. Hillary is my girl, and she...
