This article clearly shows that taxes, including those collected for the ACA, will go into the General Fund. There is no guarantee they will go anywhere else.
Absolutely. Our government isn't capable of separating funds. When SS was running a surplus, did they set that money aside for the Baby Boomers? Nope, they spent it. Clinton used it to 'balance' the budget.
Sadly, now Congress can tax us on anything we do, and anything we don't. You didn't vote this year? That's a $1000 'tax'!
It's ok though, I'm pretty sure that freedom means you can do whatever you want, as long as you are willing to pay the penalties, I mean taxes, that go with it.
