Should another Flag be on the same Flag Pole as the American Flag?

Recently I was sent a picture of the Gay Pride flag flying under the American Flag. Is this right or wrong? Should any flag be flown on the same pole as the American flag?

I have seen it hundreds of times for a variety of reason, so I guess it's allowed.

Happens all the time. POW flags. As long as 'Old Glory' gets top billing, it's all good.

If there is another flag being flown I know it is not supposed to fly ABOVE the American flag. I have never seen another flag on the same pole and feel anyway that it is appropriate. I would guess it has to do with the ideology.

Sometimes see 3 flags, National, State & then MIA/POW black flag. What does a gay pride flag look like? A rainbow? A rainbow could signify 'tolerance of diversity' including different races, cultures perhaps. Don't let LGBT's hijack the rainbow!

    Gay Flag

    Diversity Flag

    The same color pattern!
