Several things come to mind immediately!
1. NEVER assume any hurricane or tropical storm can't do damage.
2. Never assume food and gas will be readily available.
3. Never assume immediate help or medical aid is available during and after the storm.
4. Never assume utilities will be restored quickly.
And most importantly, take all storms seriously! Don't wait to prepare, make prepartions ahead of the storm! A storm coming anywhere close to where you live SHOULDN'T be greeted with a Storm Party! And remember, death and property losses don't always just happen to the other guy!
We learned that in the trenches, there are no Republicans or Democrats. Just people helping people.
We learned that heroes and heroines don't have to wear capes.
We learned that FEMA is no longer a four-letter word.
And Rush Limbaugh apparently doesn't own a mirror.
