Will it threaten a free and open Internet? From what I gather, what is on the table is having more countries exert control of the Internet and also having websites pay a toll for traffic that goes to certain countries. Google has a petition concerning these issues. Here's an article with more details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20429625
I read an article about that a few days back it doesn't surprise me that gov't's would want to take 'control' of the internet. I think they just don't like the 'truth' coming out about them as it has been doing.
Another breach to our freedom. When will it stop? It is tiring that governments have to intervene not for our well being but for theirs, not for our interests but for theirs. Another petition that will have my name on. No to dictatorship and yes to freedom!
