As much as I want to latch onto Sheryl Sandberg's "revolutionary" take on why women aren't climbing the corporate leadership ladder fast enough and her advice that women should simply "lean in" to their careers, as a mom of two young children, I have a hard time not gritting my teeth at her. Rather than wanting to "lean in" to my career at the moment, I want to "lean in" to my family, and, much to my dismay, am finding that my very family-friendly company simply can't support a part-time worker in any real way.
Are you happy with your work-life/work-family balance? Do you wish you leaned in to your career more at some point? Does Sheryl represent a new wave of feminism? Or is she simply adding more to womens' already overflowing plate (unsupported by our nation's social policies and our culture of workaholicism?)
