Do you want a trillion dollar defense budget?  2 trillion?  Do you even have a limit?

This is directed towards those who call themselves Republicans who also support a giant military, bases around the world, and say the government "spends too much."

I will say that as a DOD employee, I was happily looking forward to a nice, short, furlough. However the UNIONS decided to seize the opportunity and push the mounting debt off till next year.

I think about $500 billion would be sufficient.

I think you're right, at least in peace time.  A war footing is obviously a different story, where anything up to multiple trillions might be necessary.  We haven't seen that kind of need since WWII, but it could happen again.

I want the strongest military on the planet, but you're right about having a budget.  I want budget cuts and a balanced budget.  Yep, I'm willing to have cuts in defense, along with cuts elsewhere, in order to reach that goal.
