    So much of our discussion of Obamacare here on HP has focused (laser focused) on the individual mandate.
    Increasingly, other aspects of the law and its potential are getting news coverage.
    Here are two very different upsides that caught my eye recently:

    1. Shift to ACCOUNTABLE care presents enterpreneurial ($$$) opportunities. … 40045.html

    2. Broadening ACCESS to care does have positive impacts on population health.
    Reduced mortality rates is one such measure. Healthier Americans -- what a concept! … mortality/

    Please chime in on one, both, or other aspects of ACA that interest you!

      Hi MM.  Hmmmmm. It is hard to decide where to begin.

      Here are nine tests, screenings, and treatments available to all adults with ZERO co-pay or out of pocket cost:
      • Blood pressure screening.
      • Depression screening.
      • Obesity counseling and screening.
      • Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) prevention counseling for adults at increased risk.
      • Smoking-cessation interventions, including counseling and medication.
      • Some vaccines (plus some others if you missed your teenage booster) including: annual flu shots; human papillomavirus (HPV, which can protect against certain cancers); measles/mumps/Rubella (MMR); a vaccine against a type of meningitis; chicken pox; and tetanus/diphtheria/pertussis, or whooping cough, which has made a comeback in some states.
      • Birth control for women (under most plans; does not include all brands, though).
      • Breastfeeding counseling and supplies.
      • Domestic violence screening and counseling. {1}
