Years back (how long has it been?) Rodney King, after he got that horrendous beating from the LAPD, asked plaintively: "Can we just ALL get along"?. He passed away several years ago still asking the same question, and with the George Zimmerman murder trial just concluded, and all the racial innuendos and epithet thrown by purveyors of racial disharmony (Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Eric Holder and Barrack Obama)... Mr King must be twirling in his grave.

Justice will be done though the heavens may fall!

What ever it takes to make sure that the harmony that you seem to talk about is actually applied and is more than just talk.

Rodney King died only a year or two ago at the most.

You are right about Doctor Martin Luther King's Dream has now become an illusion.

The behavior of mankind is not surprising at least without making this him making this a religious thread just let me point out what the Bible has to say from the past having looked into the future:

    New International Version (©2011)

People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,

Does any of this sound familiar in today's society?

You are absolutely right in painting today's societal maladies as emanating from human's overweening EGO. Racial disharmony should not be included in those maladies, but because of political misdirection )Obama/Holder), monetary conscription ( Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson) and  liberal angst (MSNBC), some people have and continues to stir the pot of racial tension and division.
