Ivanka Trump Named 'Assistant to the President' as a Federal Employee with her own office in the West wing.

OK,so the  DOJ said that hiring Kushner does not violate anti-nepotism law .

"President Trump got an opinion from the Justice Department that the nepotism statute doesn't apply to his White House. We disagree with that opinion, but we recognize that reasonable minds can disagree." - Norman Eisen

    Now Ivanka, who's next? Barron?

How much is it costing us to hire Ivanka and what will she be doing - are we getting our moneys worth?

says unpaid or $1, still the power being concentrated into a single family is .. unnerving.

The power is concentrated?  How is it concentrated more than if she wasn't technically an employee, albeit one that costs the nation nothing?  She remains his daughter, after all, and has his ear any time she wants it either way.

As do his sons (while running his businesses - including taking secret service all the way to Dubai for a hotel opening.)  No conflict here - move on.

Do You and other  " galvanized"  new liberals realize at all how shallow and fake these issues popping up almost  daily even sound ?

You are correct -  no conflict here, so move on.  Unless you have proof that it was taken by Trump AND harmed the US?

(But I'm not sure what that has to do with Ivanka - is she off the hook now so we'll continue the witch hunt elsewhere?)

It is the accumulation of incompetence that the US should worry about, lol.

If you choose your administration on the basis of your need for emotional support, rather than picking on the basis of talent or experience, you are heading for the rocks.

          Too many 'Yes, Daddy' people.

Not certain I see that as concentrating power any more than the undue influence Hillary had while First Lady; when compared with the roles of prior First Ladies.

I'm not saying I didn't roll an eye when I heard this but I think you are putting too much worry into it.

Should ethics and laws be part of whether something is right or wrong? Or do we limit the discussion to cost and usefulness?

Seriously ," that much power in one family ",     even  If Trumps service is  all for free ?   If you guys had to pay for Trumps  campaign  financing like the Clintons , their offices , their gold retirement packages , coverage ,  or even the  extensive court costs ?

A new controversy  every day for the  Trumps !       How much does that cost ?

Clinton did it  - so can Trump!
Obama did it - so can Trump!
Really? Didn't your mother tell you when you were five years old that two wrongs don't make a right?

Yes every freakin' day is more and more anal seepage coming out of the swamp that is overflowing past the brim.

    _new_BS_of_the day:

“The very last thing that John Podesta just said is no individual should be too big to jail,” Flynn told Todd. “That should include people like Hillary Clinton. I mean, five people around her have been given immunity, to include her former chief of staff. When you are given immunity, that means you have probably committed a crime.”

Know who said that? Michael Flynn who is now asking immunity from the FBI (not granted - yet) The same Michael Flynn who had the shortest tenure of any national security adviser ever.

    and also this:

Icahn unpaid advisor to Trump that the NYT reported conflict of interest?- but no -it's all snowflakes melting in the sun according to the Trumpeteers.
