Trump has spent seven of 14 weekends at Mar-a-Lago and at least 28 percent of his term traveling to or staying at the estate in the first 100 days of his presidency.

Trump has large blocks of "private time" that has frustrated some West Wing aides. "There may be a block of time, two hours of staff time, who knows what’s going on during that time, anything could happen,”

Trump’s top aides worry that he has too much time to himself. Advisors came forward claiming that Trump “watches too much TV” due to this excess of free time.  After about 6:30 pm, when the president goes back to his residence, there's a general acceptance that his time is his own. ‘They need to keep him busy or he starts calling CEO types like Steve Schwarzman. They’re trying to fill his schedule up because he gets into mischief.’ - bipartisanreport
