I'm a conservative moderate. I vote for who I think will do the best job. Otherwise I vote issues. I wanted to give my benchmark so maybe someone can point out which is which, they're the same or non of the above. I fear socialists hide behind a liberal banner. What do you think?

Im a conservative moderate as well. I felt i had to vote for the lesser of 2 evils.

To be honest, I have not been overly impressed with Rep/Dem 'final' options for a good long while.

      LOL, that made me laugh.

Well if we're talking about socialists hiding behind the guise of 'liberalism', what about full on conservatives hiding behind the guise of 'independant' or 'moderate conservative'.  I run into those all the time.  Me, I consider myself a moderate left winger.  I have voted right wing on issues before.  I like to analyze a situation before I devote myself to a vote.

Analysis of the last Presidential election was easy.  Even if I had supported McCain, his choice of running mate would have driven me away.  Palin is an idiot of the highest caliber, and we don't need another one of those in a high position.

Enviroment, not cap & trade, because I believe we need to do some things to clean things up. Healthcare needs to be reformed I just don't want to pay illegals or those who have chosen to not work, key word chosen. I'm a strong supporter of mandatory national service. I believe we need education reform alot of our public schools are not safe and we need to get more middle and lower income kids in college.

the presidential election has become such a joke that I have a hard time liking anyone. McCain was the lesser of the evils in my eye, but here in AZ he has completely ignored the border issues that DO need addressed. Did Palin scare me? "you betcha".

But Obama. here comes the pain train. on every level imaginable.

The economy and the war needs attention first if we're ever going to have money for any thing. Thats the way a liberal would prioritize things, thats why us conservatives think you need to have your heads examined.

helping those in need and those who are not able is very attainable.

What a liberal and a conservative deem as needy and unable are two different things.

Conservative- if you are in need, sure we will help you. But we are going to help you get back on your feet so that you can contribute to the big wheel. We want you "in need" for a short period of time.

Liberal- if you are in need, we are going to spoon feed you. We are gonna wipe your butt as well. Take as long as you want, not as long as you need. We don't encourage marriage because if you are married with 12 little "paychecks" guess what, you aren't getting your paycheck. Don't earn your keep, there are plenty of hard working americans out there who are more than willing to pay your keep. Mexico, come on in. We will pay for you too. If you commit crimb, you are safe because our laws protect you- not our 'spoiled' citizens. What ant and grasshopper story?

    1. livelonger profile image85
livelongerposted 14 years agoin reply to this

Don't forget that you can usually distinguish conservatives from liberals by their halos (liberals usually have devil horns, which, of course, the government paid for).

          LOL....

I don't see how conservatives help a person in need at all?  Isn't it sort of a "you got screwed/messed up... sux for u!" mentality?  Liberalism is the opposite.  I dunno about wiping somebodies ass, but they'll help them when they're in need.

I also don't see how liberals all the sudden don the "devil's horns".  That makes no sense.  Maybe try sticking to actual arguments.  Unlike the ones presented, they tend to imply a lack of stupidity.

I'm not saying we should become a socialist country, but fascism is no better.  Read my posts and you'll realize that I think the best country is run from the center (a good balance of both sides).  Elections are always between a Giant Douche and a Turd Sandwich.

it's a misconception. the difference between two are minimal, mostly in finding a scapegoat, and America may become fascist as well as socialist. The key is the total nationalization.
