Democrats Request Nancy Pelosi Allow Vote to Axe Abortion in Health Care
    October 23, 2009
"Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Congressional pro-life Democrats have sent their third letter in recent months to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi asking that she allow a vote on an amendment to strike the abortion funding in HR 3200, the health care bills. Now, in total, 38 Democrats have requested such an amendment."

Probably the same congressmen who support the death penalty and take bribes from the death-dealing arms industry.

Actually, I think they are questioning whether or not tax dollars should be used to pay for it.....

The same tax dollars that are used to buy nukular weapons and invade Iraq and bail the banks out? wink

          I see what you mean.....

Do you? It would seem that your logic only encourages wastefull spending. In other words if the government spends on something you disagree with then they MUST spend on something you agree with. Or even worse, no request for funding can be denied. To what end will that lead?
Again, they were only asking for a vote to amend funding. merely asking a question makes them facist?

yes. I see they do not question the money spent on corporations who supply weapons to the government Inc. I really suggest you guys go buy decent dictionaries and look up the word fascist. It might make communication somewhat easier.

Wasteful? Not sure how you came to that conclusion either. I was suggesting these are hypocritical scum bags who are quite happy to see as many dead Iraqi babies as it takes as long as Exxon makes a large profit, but have a"moral" opinion on spending tax money on abortion because .....

Do you think health care reform should involve federal funding for procedures performed for socio-economic rather than medical reasons?

It's simple. The Constitution defends the rights of ALL INDIVIDUALS to the pursuit of happiness. Now that includes women, but at some point that fetus becomes an individual and as such deserves the protections granted it under the constitution.

Funny how Pelosi gets to decide on what Congress may or may not address. Used to be any congressman could introduce any issue he deemed to be of importance to the American people.

Your right, although it normally takes more than one....however it apears there are 38.  Seems more than enough to open a debate.
I hope American's of all political persuasions are paying close attention to all of this nonsense. Practically all of the sitting congress should get a hard look at re-election time.

I actually saw a bumper sticker the other day that shouted,

      "PELOSI FOR POPE!"

First I'd heard she was even Catholic....big_smile

I don't think we should allow Mark to completely side track this thread like he has done to so many other threads.

The reason why I started it is to consider a universal health care plan if federal funding is not used for socio-economic reasons such as abortion or euthanasia.

    What do you think?

Seeing there are so many people without health insurance in the US is it worth considering universal health care if it just deals with medical reasons?
