   Have you ever wondered why we want to destroy America?  Why we want to let the ACLU get their pedophile hands on your children?  How could anyone believe those stupid scientists about something as silly as global warming?  And healthcare for poor people?  Ridiculous, isn't it?  Why would anyone want such a thing?
   
   I know you wonder these things, here's your chance to ask a genuine liberal.  I am a certified, card carrying member of the left wing conspiracy to destroy America by taxing soda and cigarettes and getting a black man with a funny name elected to office.  I am qualified to answer the things you are burning to know!

   Butting in here - but why are Americans so worried about national healthcare. Surely it's a good thing that even the poor and uninsured will have access to medical treatment?
   
   Genuine question - I'm not American so I don't hear the back and forth of the debate We have a national medicare system in Australia. I don't get why you wouldn't want that - people tell horror stories about how if you get sick in the States and you don't have insurance you're in dire straits.

      A lot of people do want that, Audreavea. But some other people call taking care of each other "Socialism." Apparently, this label is terrifying to some people (usually those who don't know the definition of the word), so they rail against the idea that as the so-called "greatest country in the world" we should have ample health care for our citizens.

         We are not Socailists, and against all the rhetoric of the left and the world. We do have the best health care system in the world and should not demolish it to fix some problems.
         
         Even this new bill leaves out 40 million people. the number to begin with of uninsured was 38 million. So?....
         
         And anyone in this country that need health care gets it. We have so many state and federal programs it isn't funny.

      Often, when you feel like that about a decision they've made you can (MAYBE through great trial and risk to life and limb) follow a paper/money trail back around to those making the decisions.

      Through any emergency room for anything emergent. And through outpatient clinics and Drs, and medicare, or medicaid. And there are so many charities that will also assist anyone that asks.
      
      That is half the problem with the old system though. It is confused and clotted with paper and people and numbers.
      
      We need reform, but I would opt for taget specific reforms.
      
      After all, anything you do to a system that huge would take about a year to see the effects of the changes, and then you adjust and fix more as you go.
      
      Not demolish, and start over.

         Neither the Senate nor the House bill "demolishes" anything. The drug and insurance industries will come out relatively unscathed or perhaps with substantially increased profits.

      They have to pay for it.  Or they just go to the emergency room when they get so sick they can't wait and then they don't pay their bills. 
      
      Because we all know that poor people just sponge off of the rest of society.  That's why I want to give poor people healthcare, so the worthless of society can be an even bigger drain on all the good hearted rich people and the hardworking middle class.

         I think you and McCarthy would have been good coffee buddies. Both of you like yourselves a lot, and both of you refuse to acknowledge the potential truth of anything other than what you have already blindly accepted.
         I do not take political sides, and I do not necessarily consider myself a liberal. I do, however, take pride in engaging my cognitive abilities occasionally, and I would be embarrassed to have insulted 85% of the globe in a single forum without any support other than "its just another liberal lie."
         
         My opinions, of course. But since I am already a liar under your previous classifications, I cannot expect that you would take any of this seriously.

   Yes, McCarthy was right.  Liberals just want to destroy America.  We are all godless communists.  In fact it was the godless liberals in congress (led by those dirty liberal Republicans Karl Mundt and Vivian Watkins) who censured McCarthy, so that he wouldn't be able to stand in the way of our dastardly plot to destroy America!  Those lefty republican Senators who denounced McCarthy were really Communist moles!
   
   Yes, the whole senate was just eaten up with communists in those days. 
   
   Of course, I'm not sure why they didn't just destroy America back then when they had us.  I mean they put flouride in the water, but that's only the first step.
   
   But that won't stop us from destroying America now!  We have a black man with a funny name in office!
