What kind of America do you want to live in? Do you want it to remain the "Land of the Free", or do you want it to be a police state where people can be thrown in jail indefinitely without a trial, at the discretion of unelected bureaucrats?

A bill recently introduced by Senator McCain would create exactly that kind of a police state. S 3081 would allow American citizens to be jailed indefinitely without a trial and without even being charged!

Here's a link to S 3081. It doesn't sound like a very good idea to me. I doubt that Obama would sign it. As I recall, North Vietnam didn't hold McCain "until the end of the hostilities."

I don't see anything in there about being held indefinitely. Though I don't really see any limits either. I think this bill is unnecessary.

This not a vision limited to the USA my friend. Bourgeois governments  all over the world cracked down on citizens with all manner of laws.

For example, here in South Australia, the Attorney-General, a member of the government, had a citizen's private blog shut down because it contains disparaging remarks him a 'representative' of the people!

In Western Australia, the police commissioner wants the state government to install closed circuit cameras in every suburban street of the capital city. To monitor the activity of citizens as in London.

The federal government of Australia confiscated the welfare payments of all indigenous people living in communities managed by the Army and Police Forces. The government managed the money of these people by forcing them to take out accounts with store owners...

Police now patrol public transport and large public events with sniffer dogs trained to find marijuana. We citizens are guilty until proven innocent, a reversal of the basis of bourgeois law.

The police state is well under way throughout the Western world

Guilty until proven innocent.  That's some system.

    McCain has got to go.

And so does every Democrat that is supporting this proposal in the current Democratic Sponsored Immigration Reform Bill.

"It would create a national ID -- which is dubbed a "biometric social security card." Though Democrats insist that it is not an ID card and can only be used for employment purposes."

This is very scary... and a predecessor to "Chip Implantation".

The Social Security Card is already abused and hardly used at all for it's intended purpose.

The continued attempt at tracking every move of every citizen has got to be stopped.

This just shows what a Hypocrite Obama is.... he's against stopping illegals for identification verification, but he's for biometric identifiers for every legal man woman and child in the country? Punish the law abiding citizen.  And how much more money and how many more Government Employees to track this new rights infringement?  And of course there will be a fee for the cards now and you will pay it!

And for those who don't know it - Arizona actually does have an illegal immigration problem the Federal Government has refused to act on. And McCain is form Arizona which just proves how useless he really is and why he should be voted out.

I read an article yesterday that said Arizona has 580,000 illegals!  And the are not just from Mexico!  That's a whole lot of people who are not paying taxes and do uses social services.

So if there is not plan to legalize those who are willing to work, and contribute... then at least Arizona is acting to do something.

The Federal Government can not be trusted.

I've said for years, McCain's a whack job and corrupt. This is in defense of Gitmo.

On the other hand, trying these people would be better. They released 3 that went back to run Al Queda units. The govt. just needs to figure out how to do it right. That usually means, new people to do the job right.

    Lieberman wrote it with him...
But we have long been moving towards an out and out police state...
I'm a mild-mannered gramma, and once I was pulled over, and was about to get out of my car when the policeman said, "Stay in there for my own safety."...his safety? wow.

    Kind of floored me....
    I'm the enemy!!!

    We're the enemy!!!

But it's just a crazy mind-set. We can stop it.
