Are you kidding me? This shows exactly how clueless Obama is.
In a speech the other day he actually had the gall to say that 9.6% unemployment was 'proof' of what a great job he was doing with the economy because at least it isn't 13, 14, 15%.
He said this with a straight face.
Additionally the numbers for June were tainted because census workers are now unemployed, and those numbers were deliberately eliminated to give a "more accurate" view of the unemployment picture.
I suspect we are still over 10%. Perhaps we really are at 13% or higher, in order for the gov't to save face.
Apparently "Down" is the "Right" direction.
People don't just voluntarily give up looking for work. When there are not jobs there are no jobs. And it's not cheap to get out and beat the pavement to find work. Job searching can be pretty expensive. So you decide if you want to eat or go look for work that isn't there.
Sadly you can expect property crime to escalate in depressed areas.
The REAL unemployment numbers are not published as it would scare people to realize so many people are suffering.
To summarize Obama in one word.
Obama = FAIL
