Because the Democrats and Republicans can't get it together. Now that President Obama is in power, psycho racist conspiracy theorists like the Tea Party won't shut up with ther drivel, and clowns like Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are our political heroes. If McCain were president, crazy left wingers would be going off the same way. Moderates are getting more and more alienated. We need our own damn party so common sense can rule once more.
In Canada, on a federal level, we have a few parties....the extreme right, the extreme left and supposedly the middle...and then we have those that represent french Canada - the Bloc...and the Green party.....and then we also have a bunch of other ones that pop up around election time, including the Marijuana Party.
I don't know what the answer is anymore...common sense party, makes sense to me! If the US can pull it off - good for you.
