Stewart Chase, a prominent fabian socialist wrote a list in the 1930's. It seems to me that we are headed in that direction.
1.Strong centralized government
2.Growing executive arm
3.Control of credit, banking and security exchanges by the government.
4.Underwriting of employment by the government, either through armaments, or public works
5.Underwriting of social security by the government, unemployment insurance and the like
6.Underwriting of food housing and medical care
7.Use of deficit spending
8.The abandonment of gold
9.Government control of foreign trade
10.Government Control of transportation
11.Control of natural resources
12.Control of energy sources
13.Control of agricultural production
14.Enlistment of youth corps
15.Heavy taxation and state control of communications.
I would say that is the plan eventualy, if we allow it to happen.
Once the power is taken out of the hands of the people the government will intrude in our lives in unfathomable ways.
At my work I see protesters constantly wasting their time picketing us. It is a testament to the unmovable force of big government.
Picketing who or what? (You said "picketing us")...
Okay. Thanks.
Well, do you consider your job valid and useful and necessary? I would say it is!
It's probably picketed by those who are against war etc. no matter what. I wouldn't necessarily call your job a part of "big government" as in it needs to be downsized. Maybe they should be picketing the tyrants in Washington instead of honest hardworking patriots like you.
I think it is vital to our existence, I'm simply using it as an example to the fact that once the government gets too much strength, people can protest as much as they want, unless a civil war breaks out the voice of the people will be useless.
They might as well be shouting at a brick wall, even if their oppinion is contradictory to their freedoms.
If a civil war broke out, the voice of the people would still be useless if you have weapons pointed at their heads. Nice pic btw.
Hold up! You have a problem with people picketing at your nuclear arms base and believe they are wasting their time while you are touting about how government is the death of us but...
You work for the government,
You control fire arms,
You have in your arsenal, nuclear weapons
The government's biggest expense is for the military
And you are bitching about a fabian socialist society while preaching the gospel and the glory of your god and you have a problem with people protesting nuclear arms?
Was that a threat?
Edit, what I mean is, are you planning to use your position to attack America?
What?! No way! That's where I keep all of my stuff.
haha
Well, I think you were meaning that people will protest whatever, even if it means protesting against those who protect them! Some people just want to protest, that's all. It's called non-discriminatory activism just for the sake of activism. Like the ACLU. One minute they're upholding the "rights" of someone, and the next minute they're upholding the "rights" of someone with a totally opposite agenda. Haven't people figured out that neutrality doesn't work? Patriotism isn't neutral and "diverse". We're either FOR protecting our Nation, or we're not.
The ACLU tries to uphold the law, e.g. First Amendment, for everyone however unpopular the cause.
I think she also believes that people are protesting the people who serve the country as opposed to protesting 'nuclear weapons'. Huge difference but she wouldn't know that because she hasn't figured anything out yet.
Maybe they should go to Iran and protest that government's nuclear agenda.
Oh wait---they'd probably be arrested on sight, if not worse.
Are you seriously that lost? What the heck do you think the "evil UN" is doing? What do you think the peace talks are for?
Your so...so...your so unequivocally blind I cannot understand why you even bother. Where in the world do you get your information?
Unfortunately, people like you end up fueling the fire over there and you don't even know you do it.
You damn all the efforts that America and the UN make to make sure they don't have them, then you turn around and get all slap happy about calling all other not like you 'unamerican' for protesting ALL nuclear weapons.
"Throw some more Korans on the fire. That'll teach um!" So unequivocally ignorant.

Do you believe in your opinion that in the topic of abortion, the US Government should regulate the procedure or should it be a left to the discretion of the individuals involved? (Please keep it civil and clean guys.)

...there's this thing called sovereignty, individual and national, that some don't seem to appreciate. Maybe its because they don't understand their own degree of brainwashing that they have accepted.I don't claim that everyone is right about everything, but Agenda 21 and the UN ideas of one world...

For instance,1. Over-regulation of businesses preventing entrepreneurship.2. Confiscatory and overburdensome taxation causing businesses to flee.3. State control over utilities.4. Government control over the marketplace.5. Government control of media and technology.

If it is true that the US is on the road to socialism and if it is being orchestrated by UN treaty; how bad can that be? Equality must be mandated, income, housing and the family must all be defined by government otherwise some may suffer. Health care must also be administered by government,schools...

Fighting obesity with government control? The New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg whom I normally respect has chosen to propose banning large sweet soft drinks. He wishes to limit the drinks to 16 oz. His issue is the mega drinks beyond the 16 ounces. My question is what is next - you are no longer...
