Stewart Chase, a prominent fabian socialist wrote a list in the 1930's. It seems to me that we are headed in that direction.

    1.Strong centralized government

    2.Growing executive arm

3.Control of credit, banking and security exchanges by the government.

4.Underwriting of employment by the government, either through armaments, or public works

5.Underwriting of social security by the government, unemployment insurance and the like

6.Underwriting of food housing and medical care

    7.Use of deficit spending

    8.The abandonment of gold

    9.Government control of foreign trade

    10.Government Control of transportation

    11.Control of natural resources

    12.Control of energy sources

    13.Control of agricultural production

    14.Enlistment of youth corps

15.Heavy taxation and state control of communications.

Once the power is taken out of the hands of the people the government will intrude in our lives in unfathomable ways.
At my work I see protesters constantly wasting their time picketing us. It is a testament to the unmovable force of big government.

Picketing who or what?  (You said "picketing us")...

              Okay.  Thanks.
Well, do you consider your job valid and useful and necessary?  I would say it is!
It's probably picketed by those who are against war etc. no matter what.   I wouldn't necessarily call your job a part of "big government" as in it needs to be downsized.   Maybe they should be picketing the tyrants in Washington instead of honest hardworking patriots like you.

I think it is vital to our existence, I'm simply using it as an example to the fact that once the government gets too much strength, people can protest as much as they want, unless a civil war breaks out the voice of the people will be useless.

They might as well be shouting at a brick wall, even if their oppinion is contradictory to their freedoms.

If a civil war broke out, the voice of the people would still be useless if you have weapons pointed at their heads.  Nice pic btw.

Hold up!  You have a problem with people picketing at your nuclear arms base and believe they are wasting their time while you are touting about how government is the death of us but...

              You work for the government,
              You control fire arms,
You have in your arsenal, nuclear weapons
The government's biggest expense is for the military

And you are bitching about a fabian socialist society while preaching the gospel and the glory of your god and you have a problem with people protesting nuclear arms?

                  Was that a threat?

Edit, what I mean is, are you planning to use your position to attack America?
