Truth is a choice a conscious decision to believe... I like to consider what's possible and what's likely using my experience with common sense since real truth can never be known... but in this case it was a setup however no one put the words in the mouths of those execs so regardless of the source its likely the feeling expressed were real especially in light of recent goings on at NPR like Juan Williams firing for example.

Interesting. Isn't that the same website that:

...included Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan (who is Jewish) supporting Nazi ideology (accompanied by a fake picture of her in a Nazi uniform)?

...a video suggesting that Muslims have sex with goats?

...a doctored photo showing President Obama urinating on an American flag?

...claims that Obama's mother was involved in pornography and that Obama "was involved with a crack whore in his youth"?

      Just asking. smile

NPR is just a great way for poor people to receive quality programming if they can't afford cable.
It's no wonder the Repubs don't like it....it's nice and it shows the marks of a true culture.
Repeat after me: All that matters to Repubs is $$$.
Since the last time they cut $ from NPR, there has been more commercials, and more fund-rasing going on.
    It's annoying.
After all, when you can afford cable, you can watch stations with no commercials if you choose.

Once again, Repubs stand for taking away something from the lowest class of American people.
I mean, they had no problem funding the subsidies for the trillian $$ oil companies, yet the pittance that NPR receieved is too much of a "burden".

Selfish Greed-mongers, the lot of them!!!!

No wonder liberals like NPR, it is shamelessly partisan, lives off the teat of everyone else without accountability, and doesn't have to compete like everyone else. Other people's money and no consequences? A liberal dream.

NPR is less than one speckle on a teat compared to oil subsidies!
And oil companies are for profit enterprises!

Why are we helping THEM get personally rich, yet it's too much to ask to help poor peole receive quality television?

Why does Exxon mean more to you than mom and pop America?

LaLo, I'm not surprised by what those NPR cretins said about people who aren't liberal.  Did you really expect them to be tolerant?  What he said means that we should start defunding NPR.  He says that they are not reliant on it, so why give them any money.  In addition, this tells me that the NPR is for just a particular segment of the public and not the whole public, again another reason not to publicly support NPR.  That they would meet with a lobby for a Muslim front group and that they would say that Jews control all newspapers tells me that their product is not unbiased as they like to say they are.

Oh, you mean that because Walker claimed that he said nothing on this phone call that he didn't also say in person, that the phone call wasn't damaging to him.

    SOMEONE HAS AN OPINION?!!?!?

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

.... anyway, I DO agree that there shouldn't be government funding for NPR - I don't like federal funding for anything.

But - just because some lady has a different opinion than you, and they receive money from the government doesn't mean that they're evil.

If that were true then every teacher would have to be fired from public school.

(Once again, i'd like to see everything privatized - i'm just pointing out the foolishness of the arguments posted by the OP)

    1. lady_love158 profile image60
lady_love158posted 6 years ago in reply to this

No having a differnt opinion doesn't make one evil but that determination depends on what the opinion is... in this case Shiller pretty much stated racist hatred of multiple groups of people... in my opinion that makes him evil especially since he was willing to give a group that shares his views a voice on public airwaves for cash.

Another swing and a miss for James O'Keefe. When are Republicans going to hire professionals to carry out the dirty tricks like the good ol' days with guys like G. Gordon Liddy? This teenybopper O'Keefe is an amateur. He was exposed for editing most of the whole ACORN/pimp video, his plot to embarrass a CNN reporter failed miserably when she refused to go along with his crude advances, and now he couldn't get NPR to accept his fraudulent $5 million donation while posing as a member of a Muslim organization.

All O'Keefe got was an NPR exec running his mouth off about the Tea Party. Who here is shocked that someone said the Tea Party is full of bigots? I wonder where he would get that impression: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GoKd8CCdsxU

Other than this exec saying he thinks NPR would be better off without public funding, where's the controversy here?

    1. lady_love158 profile image60
lady_love158posted 6 years ago in reply to this

Well it was more than just a trashing of the Tea Party as you probably know by now. It seems to be at least a triple for Okeefe with Shiller being forced to resign. If the NPR funding is cut it will be a HR! Should the public really fund a racist organization that would provide a voice to an extremist group on the public airwaves for a cash donation? That's actually what was being discussed. Now being a regular NPR listener I feel I've been duped all trust in their reporting is now lost for me.
