Why is Glenn Beck leaving Fox? Fired? Voluntarily?

  1. Ralph Deeds profile image72

Not sure of the details, but apparently Glenn Beck and Fox News are parting ways. Does this mean we'll be hearing less about this lunatic. Or will he move on and become bigger than ever? Maybe he'll make a run at the VP nomination as a running mate to Michelle Bachman???

Like that old actress who refused to believe her time was over: 90 yrs old, still thinking she was a sex-symbol.

He should go into acting and or comedy, he's clearly very talented in such fields. Oh wait a minute, he was in Fox News.

his 5pm not prime time rating beats MSNBC's prime-time slot 4X.
yeah that should say something! if this man lies how come he has not been sued yet? he clearly tells you to look for yourself. and he is not a republican he is libertarian. He also stated he will be part of FOX but doing specials. I challenge anyone to prove what he talks about to be false. lets see the replies start flying.

His political ideology is irrelevant, his role is to be an entertainer, which he is pretty good at.  He tells a series of truths, half-truths and lies for political entertainment purposes, much like John Stewart or Stephen Colbert. The fact of the matter is he isn't news.

      1. BillyDRitchie profile image60
BillyDRitchieposted 6 years ago in reply to this

You're right, he is a commentator, much like Hannity or O'Reilly or Olbermann or Maddow.

Which is why I am always amused when people use Beck et al as examples of right wing NEWS bias....

DTR0005posted 6 years ago in reply to this

Good observation. And if some in the Right Wing extreme didn't quote Beck as gospel, didn't cite him as a news source, he likely wouldn't take the heat.

Tell me the half truths? I personally do not watch him regularly, once in a while I tune In and it is very educational. I asked myself many times this can't be true. and sure as $hit it was. I looked for something to get him on. could not find anything big to say he is lying. I would love for you to show me where he told half truths? I do not like his religious preaching but other than that he has been spot on! SORO"S spot on, economy spot on! middle east, spot on! tell me I'm wrong. actually show me I'm wrong. you can not! he is nothing like Jon Stewart or Colbert. Maybe it makes you feel better to say this but definitely not true. Prove me wrong...I'll Be Waiting.

    2. lovemychris profile image81
lovemychrisposted 6 years ago in reply to this

Well, since I don't watch him, I have only 3:
He said that hidden communists messages were built into the buildings of New York City.
He said Obama is a racist who has a deep-seated hatred of white people.
He said Van Jones is a communist.
Oops, one more: he said the only way to stop Pelosi and Obama was to shoot them in the head.
And my personal opinion is that he and Palin and the likes of them(ugh),contribute to the violent, hate-filled nature of America at this moment in time.

      1. DannyMaio profile image60
DannyMaioposted 6 years ago in reply to this

Hidden messages in buildings in NYC, I would love to hear and see this, do you have a link? if proven would show craziness but not a lie.

Obama a racist? That is an opinion. not good if actually said!!!

Van Jones in my opinion and I have checked this shady character out is a socialist/communist/Marxist whatever. not a good guy!! sorry you should research. interesting! definitely not a lie!!

shoot them in the head? I would like the link to that one also, should not be hard since the left would have been all over that one. can not be a lie but if said a very idiotic statement, would love the link.

I think Obama's comments were funny - I wouldn't go so far as to say he was playing the race card. If he had said, "I don't have enough gray hair for the establishment" - whatever - would he have been accused of "age discrimination?" yeah...lolll likely. Hilliary made references to her gender continually in the campaigns. No one made a big deal over it - was she playing the "gender card?" And Mc Cain, nice guy by the way - almost voted for him until he picked "Stupid" as his running mate, made references 24/7 to his service in Vietnam and having been a POW - what card was he playing, if any? I don't think anyone from either side played too many cards in the 2008 election. The only excpetion was being the "I am not Bush" card - they all played that one.
              .

Obama "pals" around with terrorists...."It's nice to be around"real" Americans"...to an all-white crowd.

Muslim and terrorist go hand in hand with her. And you can see it in the people who came to see her. They say Obama is a muslim and a terrorist.
And no, I'm not googling it...I remember it.

Mike Pence is a horrid person!!!He is not even in my sights as a human being, let alone speaking for me!!

Why hasn't he been sued for lying? Because lying isn't against the law with some exceptions--lying to the FBI, lying to a grand jury, slander against non-public officials (lying about public officials is permitted for the most part). Beck is crazy, he rants and raves about all kinds of lunatic conspiracy theories. And he has made insulting an ludicrous charges against President Obama. As we said in grade school, "Good riddance to bad rubbish."

I was going to say maybe he's jockeying to be Trump's Veep candidate. But we've already seen what happens when your VP choice has a bigger ego and than you (think 2008).

He should move over to Comedy Central where he belongs. Then there would be no confusion that he is an ENTERTAINER not a news reporter.

Beck's viewership is down 39%, and some major advertisers dropped him. Additionally his contract with Fox is up this year, and all things considered, he's going to invent something else with Fox, and then, (get this) MAYBE start his own cable network. [choke, cough, hack].

Katie Couric interviewed him for 45 minutes. I watched the whole thing. He was as nervous as a fish in a blender. Couldn't answer anything without ranting and raving. Still a lunatic.

But, no, he didn't get fired. He's leaving disgraced, basically.

"Discussing Democratic leaders during a June broadcast for the Republican Fox News Channel, conspiracy host Glenn Beck told his followers they would have to “shoot them in the head” in order to bring an end to an alleged “communist” agenda.

“They believe in communism,” he said. “They believe and have called for a revolution. You’re going to have to shoot them in the head. But warning, they may shoot you.”

Funny how they all use the same boogie-man. Did you see how a head of Fox said he knew Obama wasn't a Socialist, but said it anyway?

And Stern gets fired for poopoo talk.
Sanchez and Thomas get fired for speaking truth about Israel.
And this clown is still on the air....

And the Right says the Left wants to clam them up?
    It's just the opposite.

The ones in Congress who are pushing to have gvt take the Internet are Lieberman and Arlen Spector....HARDLY left-leaning liberals!!!
