  I find it interesting that you want to change the subject rather than answer my question as to why this is an issue with Obama and not with every other president. He provided the same documentation as every other president.
  Why did the issue start with three forged documents that were immediately discovered as the pathetic attempts to discredit the president that they were?

  You are right he was vetted. However he never produced a Birth certificate. He produced the Birther Document which is acceptable. Problem is anyone can get one.
  I wish this issue would go away. We have to many issues that need addressing. Besides, if someone proves he was not born here, Joe Biden would become President. Talk about things going downhill.

  The so called "Birther Document" is the official papers available from the state of Hawaii. The long form is an internal document and is never released.
  If this was remotely legitimate, why did they cook up so many forgeries to get the conversation started?

  The Republican choice will become an instant underdog in the campaign for the seat of retiring Republican Senator Peter Fitzgerald, since Obama held a wide lead even before the scandal broke.
  
  "I feel for him actually," Obama told a Chicago TV station. "What he’s gone through over the last three days I think is something you wouldn’t wish on anybody."
  
  The Republican state committee must now choose a replacement for Ryan, who had won in the primaries against seven contenders. Its task is complicated by the fact that Obama holds a comfortable lead in the polls and is widely regarded as a rising Democratic star.
  
  The chairwoman of the Illinois Republican Party, Judy Topinka, said at a news conference, after Ryan withdrew, that Republicans would probably take several weeks to settle on a new candidate.
  
  "Obviously, this is a bad week for our party and our state," she said.

  the site that this article is from is a kenyan newspaper. there is no way to tell whether they were labeling obama as kenyan-born because of a mistranslation or if it was a simple mistake on the writer's behalf. it isn't as though they printed a birth certificate from kenya. yet you are willing to believe an article some random person in kenya wrote as evidence, when you are unwilling to believe the state-issued, legal documentation from hawaii. your judgment on the issue seems to be very warped.

Then we later found out that those random vets just served in the same war at the same time as John Kerry, and didn't actually know him at all during the war.

  Do you believe that Obama's place of birth is the biggest issue facing this country? Of course you don't. To quote James Carville, "It's the economy..." Thats my point. The economy is the issue. It's NOT getting better. It's not going to get better until the economy is allowed to complete it's natural cycle. We have been fighting off an economic depression since the 80's.

I've written two blogs on it, and though people probably think I'm a birther I'm neutral on the issue similar to 'Oly'. I'm not sure exactly why the birthers say the certificate provided is illegitimate, but regardless there will be a book on it released in less than a month, and let's just say it's going to be very... interesting.   If it is as powerful as his other books, it, too, will be revealed that it contains many errors and mistatements, as his Obama book was revealed to have and his "truther" book. He is a World Net Daily nut job that is hardly the man I would hitch my wagon to if I was looking to be taken seriously.
  He has been roundly discredited for his sloppy work, as well as having faced criminal charges for his formation of a mutual fund that lost all of its investments.

  I agree that I wrongfully assumed that the author was something I didn't research, that's on me. I merely read that he was an investigative journalist from Harvard & the time invested and felt he might be on to something but it seems he's not what I thought. Like I said, that's my fault for not doing the research. Do you think the man who allegedly stole Obama's SSN is a fake too? Either way, I still want to see the sources this book gives as they claim Obama spent money on this? Hopefully the entire book isn't as garbage as everyone contends.

  I do not think you or most people do not understand. They are not saying the Birther Doc is a fake. Birther Docs are accepted as a legal for of proof of birth. Problem is anyone can get one. The question is why does Obama produce that document but not his Birth Certificate?

  and he shouldn't have to produce a birth certificate when he already provided the required documentation for his position. being from new york, i had to request an actual birth certificate when i needed it for work a few years ago, because all my mom was given when i was born was a certificate of live birth.
  
  if you were obama, the first black president as well as the opponent of some very cut-throat republicans, and they were demanding that you deliver MORE PROOF than any president before you, simply because they did not like you, would you cater to their demands? hell no, you'd be the president of the united states! you shouldn't have to put up with that crap. and he does not.

  I Also live in NY I was born in the 60's and I have a real Birth certificate. I also requested a copy and received a certified copy of my Birth certificate not a certificate of live birth! Personally I believe he was born here but hiding something because he is the biggest liar! he stated he never heard Wright speak that way, he was in the church for 20 years dedicated a book to him and said he was his mentor! LIAR! He could have put this to bed because Hawaii stated they have the Birth certificate but Obama has to give permission to release it! why not just show it? how come he hasn't released his college records? or is that on the internet too?

  my father, sister, and i are all from new york and i can testify to the fact that we all received certificates of live birth and had to specifically request actual "birth certificates" later on when we needed them for whatever reason. a certificate of live birth was enough for my ex-military dad to receive federal clearance for his current job. surely that gives the document some weight.

  what makes you think obama should release his college records? what makes you think he needs to show more evidence of his live birth in hawaii than any other president has ever shown of his own live birth in the states? you are being manipulated by his opponents. they know he was born here; they only want to spread some doubt in the heads of those who listen so they can discredit obama. if he were to reveal every single state record, medical record, college record, and whatever else he possessed, his opponents would claim he was hiding something else.
  
  he has a right to privacy in some aspects of his life, and if that was not the case then a judge would rule it otherwise. the federal government is satisfied - there is just no logical basis for these "birther" demands.

  Anyone can swear and sign the form to the registrar in Hawaii that they were a citizen of Hawaii. The individual gives the date/time of the birth and a document record is dually entered. Perhaps someone can inform as to whether you even need to show the baby! Doesn’t look like it from my read of the statute. Then you have to swear that the information you provided was the truth. That’s all that is needed and a Birther Doc is created. I know you will think I made this up but I am sorry to tell you I researched it before answering your post.   As for your claim of New York, I was born there and was a Firefighter there for 15 years. I called and asked about a birther certificate. New York does not have or use a birther doc. AGAIN I personally believe he probably was born here but there is a lot of questions unanswered, his grandma in Kenya, the family said two different hospitals? I find that one oddly strange! they don't know what hospital? I think he is hiding something personally and as the president of the United states he should practice what he preaches transparency but Of course that doesn't apply to him! just like him and Buffet claiming everyone should pay more that are making over 250K and These hypocrites take all the deductions and Obama even received a 12K refund!   Tonight CNN is presenting its investigative report on the whole Obama birther issue.
  I saw a "tease" this morning.
  They say they found more evidence than even Obama probaby knows exists.
  The anchor asked the reporter if this will shut the birther controversy down once and for all.
  The reporter answered, "Open-minded people will have their curiosity satisfied. But if people are hell-bent on believing a conspiracy theory, NOTHING is going to change their minds. That's why Obama has not come forward."
  
  The thing that amazed me is the poll numbers they showed.
  A full 25% of Americans believe Obama definitely was NOT or probably was NOT born in Hawaii.
  
  This just goes to show that the "birthers" have planted the seeds of doubt. God help us if they decide to set their sights on an issue that actually means something.

That is code for : He is black, he has a weird name, he doesn't look like me, he promotes things I disagree with, he is anti-American, he is a secret Muslim, etc. etc. Makes me sick!

  like i've told danny, i don't appreciate being stereotyped. what is your basis for saying things like "typical" of what you think my reaction will be when you do not know me? ludicrous. before that remark, i felt your post was well-written and actually assumed you had already researched it. you do not "know" i think you made it up so i'll thank you not to jump to conclusions about me. i've said nothing that would make me seem closed-minded, but rather have tried to offer views that i believe others might not have thought of before they started believing in this birther stuff. you presented information that i did not know, and i would have appreciated it more if it did not include accusatory, generalizing remarks.
  
  i have a certificate of live birth in my filing cabinet upstairs. i've seen my dad's certificate as well. i had to contact the hospital where i was born to have them send me an actual birth certificate. (uh oh, they just sent me one in the mail? that means even if obama shows you his birth certificate, it could be fabricated! gasp!) well maybe the document i'm referring to is not the same document you are thinking of? i've never referred to it as a "birther doc" so that's possible. all i know is that i have one and so do the other members of my family who were born in new york. i would have to ask my dad if he needed an actual birth certificate to get his driver's license when we lived there, but i'm not going to bother.
  
  now, as it stands i don't quite feel like thanking you for the aspects of hawaii's system that you pointed out in your post. however reading that made me realize that i misunderstood the hypothetical situation that danny was talking about. i thought he meant that obama could have gone to hawaii during his adult life, claiming to have been born there, and filled out a form to receive his own live birth documentation. now i see danny meant that obama's [b]parents[b/] did this right after he was born.
  
  don't you think it would have been very inconvenient for his parents, if he was born in kenya, to rush back to hawaii to get a certificate of live birth written up? as the son of an american woman, he would have had automatic american citizenship no matter where he was born (his situation would have met all the requirements for this). so his parents would not have had any reason to lie about where he was born because they would not be thinking, "oh no, what if he wants to be president some day??"
  
  also, what pregnant woman flies in third term? one that wants to give birth over the ocean, i suppose.
  
  this is all because some reporter used a bad translator when interviewing his grandmother in kenya. it's amazing how things can get blown out of proportion in today's media-driven society.

Look I'm not saying I know he wasn't born in Hawaii, and Fell he probably was but There is seriously a lot of unanswered questions and to be honest I did not even take this into account when they first brought it up almost 3 years ago. But seriously If this man wasn't hiding something why wouldn't he just show the Country who has doubts? they estimate the amount at least 20 million people. I has vacationed in Hawaii a few times since these accusations and all he had to do was get the long form which the new democratic governor stated exists and show it, It will have the doctors name the hospitals name and some more info to take away this stupid issue. He refuses? does this seem odd to you? Well it does to me, especially when he will not release his college info, How did he pay for school? you do know he was in an Indonesian school as a kid and registered as a Indonesian citizen, maybe he received foreign aid? another question, Did he change his citizenship when he left for Indonesia? did he apply again when he returned? these are all solid real questions and because he wants to hold the highest office in our country he should be like he states transparent. then if you read those books and see who his cabinet is and who he associates with and what church he went to for 20 years, come on why can you not see why there are so many unanswered questions. I hate when right away people claim racism! he is half white and his white mother and family actually took care of him his father ran off. these are legitimate concerns. Unlike many people who post their blogs or posts, they write what they want and claimm it to be fact. As I said, I was a NY firefighter. I suffer from the toxins of 911. I have been in the hospital for several years, I have been stick in bed since December when I almost died. I have all day to read up on topics and research them.   i believed you had researched your post before you wrote it because it was well-written.
  but i did not appreciate you saying "I know you will not believe it(typical)". this was an assumption about me, and that's what i was mad about. that's what i was referring to.
  i was not saying "i think you made it up". that was not its own sentence. the whole sentence was "you do not "know" i think you made it up".
  in other words: do not assume i will not believe you.

Evidently, Danny, you did not read the Daily News article that I linked earlier in this very thread.....check it out...

Anyone can view his birth certificate.....you might have to stand in line for 10 or 20 minutes... But, mind you, the article points out that those in line with you are not there to see Obama's birth documents.... For all the uproar on the idiotic "right" about our President's "dubious" origins, only 25 people have come to view the documents since March of last year.....

No one from the Trump camp has shown up.....though he made the claim to send people to "investigate" several weeks ago....

Having lived in the Islands for a year....head out there Danny....take a break in mid-Pacific paradise, and mosey on down to the Records Department.....you don't need Obama's permission....

Your fantasies about our President's birthplace are the only potentially anti-American comments raised.... Your views are your own....and don't reflect us all....and if you wish to elevate me to professor status, that is on you....

The parents/ grandparents gives the date and time of the birth and a document record is dually entered. Perhaps someone can inform as to whether you even need to show the baby! Doesn’t look like it from what I read of the statute. Then you have to swear that the information you provided was the truth. That’s all that is needed and a Birther Doc is created. Hence the reason people want to see If a doctor signed that he delivered the baby etc... what is so hard? lets see your interpretation of the Hawaiian law Evan since you are scholarly.

I lived in Hawaii for a long time and never realized that they didn't have a 'birth cert', I applaud Donald Trump for getting to the bottom of this.

The Constitution says that 'only a natural born citizen may occupy the presidency' And all that has to be done is furnish a regular one like I have that has a number, MD's signature, date and all the other info.

  I don't think anyone here wants to have facts Danny! They seem to point out an argument no matter what you say! Its more important to be right ! The fact is that everyone is programmed to believe what they do depending on the geographical location they live in. They are influenced by what ever they are reading, or watching on the news. All beliefs are not your own but someone elses, because someone along the line influenced your beliefs and opinions. You may form some of your own, but at the same time still they were influenced by someone. Depending on what you have researched you produce valid points, but even research, surveys, etc are still debatable. So no matter what evidence is put in front of you it is debatable and open for argument. Countless books are written on various subjects, they to have a bias opinion. Your media is biased on what news channel you follow. You are conditioned and programmed no matter what information goes into your head. Your own community is even more conservative or liberal. People believe what their societys as a group deem acceptable. Others go along with it for the ride, because if you sway differently you are an outcast. In milligrams experiments it even proved that people will follow others even if they end up killing someone. That is my point you are heavily influenced by what the government, media, and society programs you to believe. When it comes down to it, you will never admit what you really believe if someone threatened you. You would go along with the crowd to save your life.

  Ha ha yes we do need a leader! The only thing is there were some great leaders and bad ones through out history. Finding a good one is another story, not that easy, and most of the time we are limited in our choices. When it comes to voting, I don't usually have a good choice because they usually are not the person I would select for a leader in the first place, but they are the options they give us!

  Seems so Oly you get these people arguing pretty good! You sure no how to light a fire if I may say so! lol It's a funny thing how you should mention that about Bush, we had to watch how goverment leaders walked and body language in my presentation class, and it was quite interesting the way they walk together, enter doorways wanting to be the first one in because it demonstrates more power. Fortunately we discussed how European leaders seem stronger in their body language than Americans.

I'm just happy as much as I have paid for these two text books this term for Social Problems/Social Psychology that I am getting the proper education as many people do demonstrate what their research has conveyed. All though someone earlier announced they aren't being influenced or programmed they are. lol Sorry to say!

I was born in Los Angeles Ca in 1947 and I have a copy of my birth cert for Social Security purposes. If you were listening to Trump as to what a birth cert contains mine has all that info that his has.

the number at the top of mine is either the next #'d form in line to be used by the attending MD OR it's that I was that number of baby to be born in LA on the date I was born and time I was born.

Obama's has none of this info that he has released to the public. If indeed he has one - then as Trump has said just produce it for all the world to see. It's that simple.

  Well that is the thing The Senior, being the president of the United States you can probably produce any document you want to for the public. How do we know that it is legit? No on can get a hold of our birth certificates they are protected. Fortunately if you have enough money and power you can get anyone to reproduce false identifications, as well as birth certificates. It will always be a mystery. I doubt they are going to let each one of us look at it, or investigate it to determine whether it is real or fraud.

It does! Even international relations class they discussed how presidents come out in body language, how they present themselves in their arguments, whether they were hostile, or peaceful. We don't really pay attention to all those factors, but when you watch it through out history no matter what country you can tell the difference in the way the messages is conveyed! Even reading the documents between presidents how they handled themselves in handling the situations of wars and crisis.

I am 40 and Michigan! I went back to college for the second time! Yes I do research a lot of things. I beleive the more knowledge you have the more personal power you have. I do challenge myself to learn as much as I can.

  Gee, I only have 111/2 years of Public Schooling. had to quit and go to work. In 1960 my Dad hit the magic number, 65. Got his pink slip from The Supreme Courts Of California. He was a Shorthand Court Reporter.
  
  I got a lucky break and fell into IBM on the ground floor in 1961.
  
  Been a student of The School Of Hard Knocks ever since, and will never graduate.

Well, it's official. The "birther" movement is sooooo yesterday.
Although Donald Trump will never, ever admit he was wrong (even in the face of Anderson Cooper!), he has moved off the birth certificate issue and is now focusing on Obama's high school records.
Stay tuned for more news from the "schoolers" movement.

The man is making himself sound like a moron. I know he is not. But why in the heck is he doing this? Any publicity is good publicity?

However Obama was able to transfer from Occidental College to Columbia is between him and Columbia. Even if he was accepted into Harvard Law School on some kind of affirmative action deal (which is what Trump is strongly implying), you don't become editor of the law review unless you've got the legal chops for it.

More smoke blowing up the media's butts. That's what I see when I see Trump. My respect for him is taking a nosedive with these witch hunts! (like he cares, I know )
