I'm looking forward to seeing this documentary about the Freedom Riders of 50! years ago. I've seen clips and I have the book, it should be good.

Yup. Oprah did a 50 year reunion for the Freedom Riders just a few days ago, and the documentary was a part of it. Very powerful. Amazing what average citizens can do by just banding together for what they truly believe.

Not meaning to hijack, but another documentary that's also terrific is Tom Shadyac's "I Am." Both very important, in my estimation.

Thanks for the heads up, UW.

Yes! And it was not that long ago!

This is the legacy of where Rap comes from. This is why it should be included in the lexicon of American Poetry!

No one should be excluded from HIS-story. It's OUR story.

Yes, I saw that Oprah show. Very touching.

This week's American Experience was all about the music of the civil rights movement.
