Palestine: the world's next nation (sign the petition)

   "In 24 hours the UN Security Council will meet, and the world has an opportunity to embrace a new proposal that could turn the tide on decades of failed Israeli-Palestinian peace talks: UN recognition of the state of Palestine.
   
   Over 120 nations from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America have already endorsed this initiative. But the the Canadian government opposes it and wants to proceed with US led failed talks, even though Israel's far right wing government is ignoring President Obama's calls to stop building settlements and draw up a map for two nations. Only a massive public push now could tip the government to back this momentous opportunity to move towards Palestinian self determination and an end to this bloody conflict.
   
   This bold new initiative could be the best opportunity to jump start a resolution of the conflict. Let's ensure Canada supports it, and make clear that citizens across the country support this legitimate, non-violent, diplomatic proposal. Sign the petition and send this to everyone:

   It depends where in Palestine you will be staying. If you are going to Ramallah area or Hebron area, the weather will be very pleasant. On certain nights you might need a light jacket.
